I cannot say enough good things about our experience with CAPS Transmission repair. They provide knowledgeable, professional, honest and caring service for your transmission. Yes – caring. I know it sounds weird to say that these days but Allan, the owner, is Number 1 when it comes to customer service. We had our transmission rebuilt at a fair price, in a short time, with a warranty. Now that I have told you the outcome, let me tell you about our experience here.
We were traveling from Houston to New Orleans when our 2006 Honda Odyssey started acting up on I-10. It was like you took it out of gear while driving down the interstate, then the speedometer would stop working and it would coast to a stop. Once stopped, it would go again and as long as you kept it under 50 mph it was fine. Well, the check engine light was on so we went to a nearby Autozone and had them read the code. The code reader said it was a mismatched speed signal from the speed sensor to the output shaft. So the guy at the counter told us there was a transmission shop just up the street. Well, (luckily for us) we never found it. I got out my iPhone and searched transmission repair. I read a few reviews when I stumbled onto CAPS. I remember reading it and saying either this place is really good or they write their own reviews!
So after making our way to CAPS we meet Allan (the Owner) and told him our story and he said he would try to do everything he could to get us back on the road today. It was Friday afternoon. He tried to find a new sensor for the van but could not get one until Monday, which meet we would have to stay in Baton Rouge over the week end. So then he set out to find a used one, which he was able to do. They test drove the van and came with bad news - the trans would have to be rebuilt!
I would just like to tell you while we were waiting for them to diagnose our problem and we were waiting in the lobby I could hear other customers call as well as come in - Allan was honest and concerned for every customer he dealt with. In fact one elderly lady who had come in to make a payment for her repair expressed her regret for being late with the payment and was having a hard time coming up with the money. I heard Allan tell not to worry about any more payments, that they were even as far as he was concerned.
It’s very hard to find someplace to take your car into to have a repair done and not worry whether or not they are going to rip you off or do the job right. Well, this is that place. I only wish they were located in Houston, near us, instead of Baton Rouge!
Thanks for taking care of us Allan! It was our pleasure to do business with you.
