Great for Business Dinners 6/12/2011

I chose to take clients to Capri for a business dinner. I’m so glad I chose to eat here rather than one of the Italian chain restaurants! It was an elegant setting without being fussy or overdone. Our waitress was attentive but also realized we had business to discuss. Our out of town clients were impressed and actually requested to be taken back to Capri. Thank you to Brian and the entire staff for making it a great night! more

Best Homemade Pasta in the Burbs! 6/12/2011

I've been to several Italian restaurants in the suburbs, but none to this caliber! What a beautiful place with aMAzing food. Their home made pasta with vodka sauce is absolutely the best meal I've had in a long long time. It was delicious! This dish will keep me coming back again and again!\r \r more

We'll Be Returning to Capri! 6/12/2011

I took my wife to Capri for her birthday dinner. We had been several times and always liked the food. This time was equally as good. The food was wonderful and our waitress was great. What we loved the most was the atmosphere. The restaurant is a nice size; not too big and not too small. They have real linens on the tables and candles too. We thought it was classic and sophisticated. We will definitely continue returning to Capri.\r \r more

Simply Fabulous! 6/1/2011

I absolutely LOVED Capri!! I was taken by some friends and family to celebrate a promotion and was blown away that I hadn't discovered this restaurant yet! We were seated promptly (we had a reservation) and were greeted by friendly staff, even those who weren't our waitress. The bread and oil on the table was always replenished and we didn't have to wait to place our drink order at all. Our waitress asked what we were celebrating and when everyone told her I had been promoted, she offered a free appetizer to celebrate. How sweet!! Our entrees were all wonderful, not one complaint or 'so-so' from anyone at the table. We were too full for dessert, but everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing.I will definitely be back for more!! more

Fantastic! 5/16/2011

I recently moved to the States from London and I'm still getting to know the area. Some co-workers of mine took me to Capri for a drink after work that turned into appetizers, then a meal, then dessert! We just couldn't get enough! Wonderful service, beautiful dining room, and top notch food. I can't say enough about it. \r What a lovely experience, I'll be back for certain! more

Love, love, love Capri!! Right when you walk in the door you're greeted by the friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. We had a great waiter who was helpful and friendly to all of us (four of us in the party). Once the food arrived, our already high opinion went off the charts. The food is amazing and truly authentic Italian. Homemade pasta, perfect sauce, just the right amount of spice and substance.\r We had a great time and will absolutely return for another meal. \r Thanks Capri!!\r \r more

Great for date night 4/7/2011

I took my girlfriend for dinner on Tuesday and had a great meal. We both really loved the bread that was served before dinner, and were big fans of the appetizer and our main dishes. Anywhere that still has homemade pasta is a great place in my book. \r We'll be back for sure. more

A great Sunday dinner! 4/4/2011

My husband and I have been having dinner at Capri on Sunday evenings for quite awhile. We both love the food (their diavlo sauce is to die for!) but it's the service that keeps us coming back week after week. We're treated like family. Everyone from the waitstaff to the bussing staff, and even the owner are friendly, and really happy to see us when we come in. This is a great place to be; I reccomend it to everyone! more

Great Family Place! 3/29/2011

I was in town visiting family for the Easter holiday and we spent an evening at Capri. It was my first time and was a fantastic experience. It's an elegant atmosphere with linens and attentive service (something you don't find too often anymore). On top of all of that, the food was impeccable. We had salads, entrees, and dessert and absolutely nothing disappointed. I've already told my family this will be my 'go to' spot every time I come to town.\r Thank You Capri! \r more

Run Don't Walk 1/11/2011

Like the rating says; RUN DON'T WALK TO CAPRI IN DOWNERS GROVE!!!! Wow is all I can say. Being new to the area and it being our anniversary my wife and I decided to try Capri in Downers Grove and have to say the experience will lead us to be there at least once a week. We were greeted promptly and asked if we would hang our coats. A nice touch since my wife hates to have her coat draped over a chair. The manager said that our table would be ready in just a couple of minutes and we decided on a drink at the bar. As we were walking at least 3 different employees greeted us as we were family. At the bar I decided on wine (very good selection and moderately priced) and my wife a choose a lemon drop martini (sugar rimmed included) . By this time our table was ready. Once at the table the bus person brought hot bread and water and again greeted us as he knew us for years. Next came a very knowledgeable server who explained the menu which has many items and our server even recommended his choices. I choose the Homemade Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce and added ground sausage my wife choose the Sea bass. Salads were brought promptly and on COLD plates their Caesar dressing was great. The entrees came promptly and we were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality. From the first bite we were hooked on Capri. The homemade rigatoni was cooked perfectly and the sea bass (10 oz) was by far the best my wife has ever tasted. Our server suggested bananas foster (flamed at your table) but we have to save something for next time. We will be back and with our family and friends. more

food ok - manager was high like a kite 12/10/2009

So the place is not bad and hopefully they just get rid of some of the managers there. The place looks good, the food is not bad but did not meet my expectations for a fancy pants looking Italian joint. But what killed it was one of the managers, Brian, the guy is a whack job or on drugs. not sure which one. I guess go at your own risk and experience it for yourself. Call ahead to find out who is working. Pros: nice atmosphere - decent food Cons: manager is an idiot more
