This is a really old motel that was ""remodeled"" to look a little more hip. There s a plazma tv in the room, but you have to turn on a vcr to watch television, very old fashion...

Loved it 4/14/2011

This was my second stay at the Capri. This time I booked the Deluxe room with a patio. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see the remodeled large tiled patios. I had my own private gate to access the pool area and more importantly the pool cabanas where my friend and I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon. Very comfortable and clean. Thank you again. I will be back. more

Nice place for a motel 4/13/2011

Nice place for a motel. Location is good- not right in downtown, but a short (about a quarter mile) walk. For the price- nice pool, hot tub and breakfast. The staff are nice, low-key, young. Our room had a patio- very nice with kids/pets. The room was upgraded, with a flat screen tv, and new white comfy bedding. I like this place, and would stay again. more

Nice hotel 4/12/2011

I found this hotel a pleasant and affordable option in Ojai and I feel some of the earlier reviews don't reflect my experience this hotel. Service was very friendly and helpful and the lounge and the rooms had recently been refurbished - it's nice, but not luxurious, which is reflected in the price. The hotel is next door to a nice restaurant and walking distance from the town center. The hotel also has bikes on loan if you prefer to cycle. I suppose the pool could have been a little cleaner, but it was quite cold and I was probably the only crazy person that wanted to swim. Also enjoyed the warm welcome from the cat. more

Lovely room! 4/11/2011

It's the first time we've stayed in a hotel with a King sized bed that really was a King sized bed! As comfy as the one at home. And nice sheets. But my husband's favorite feature was the plasma T.V. (first time he's ever been satisfied with that aspect of a hotel room!). more

Very Nice Hotel 4/8/2011

There is a new owner and the rooms are being remodeled. Our room was comfortable and the hotel's location was perfect. Think circa '60s Holiday Inn and you have it. I was very pleasantly surprised - clean,fresh rooms, fridge and microwave in room, refreshments avail in the lobby, friendly staff and a cat. If I ever return to Ojai, I will definately look to stay here again! more

Great little place for the price and very nice gardens and pool area 4/7/2011

We stopped here after a long day of riding on our motorcycle, and compared to some of the hotels along the same street that have pools next to a concrete parking lot, the lush gardens around the pool here made it our choice for the night. Christopher did everything he could to accommodate us, we had a patio room that was clean and we made full use of the dvd's and bicycles provided at no cost, we were even given a 2 hour late checkout which worked out perfect for us. My only gripe was the TV control was a bit confusing but once I read the perfectly written instruction card I figured it out in no time, I just kept forgetting the process each time we switched it on. They also own the Deer Lodge which was great, good hearty food. Overall a very satisfactory stay more

I intend to return 4/6/2011

I enjoyed the places's look and feel and found the staff most helpful. Next time I would be better prepared with munchies that I can microwave and DVDs to watch. The room made me want to stay indoors more than I normally do. Not sure how each room differs but overall I was charmed. more

We totally enjoyed our stay here! The rooms had new hardwood floors and plasma screen televisions. The rooms were clean and there was a microwave, and fridge in the room, which was nice. We had a balcony room and there was a lovely view from our room. The staff was very friendly and they are pet friendly! They even loaned us out a new doggie bed so our little buddy would have somewhere to sleep! We enjoyed our stay here in Ojai :) more

modern looking and pretty 4/1/2011

Brigitte, the lady at the front desk was extremely helpful. We were sitting in traffic and rain all day, she quickly helped us get a room. We asked to be near parking so we didn't have to carry so much of our luggage to the room. She did just that. Service with a genuine smile!! Our room was really modern looking and pretty. We were impressed by the condition of the room and the price. Quite a steal! We'll be back and we'll tell our friends about this quaint place : ) more

Magical & hip 3/29/2011

If you want to truly experience the beauty and hipness of Ojai properly you have to stay at the Capri. Great service, immaculate rooms, pool & spa. Almost has a post modern retro feel to it, so it's aesthetically pleasing to the full age spectrum. If you like the Cafe 101 vibe in Hollywood you'll enjoy and appreciate this Hotel. more

Clean friendly relaxing stay in a great location in ojia valley 3/24/2011

A up scale stay , we went out of season and found the Capri well run clean and friendy , and was very surprised and inpressed by the stylish rooms , big screen TV movies DVD player and iPod dock , microwave, fridge , and a lovley well decorated room with huge bed very comfortable,and in the morning a breakfast fit for a king ,all you need for a healthy start to your sighting day , As a owner of a bar & resterant ,and 18 years in the trade. I would totally recommend the Capri. As a top destination in the ojai vally, it's a very cool place to stay. more

Highly recommended 3/22/2011

My girlfriend and I had seen the motel but after checking in we were surprised how nice the property and rooms were. The rooms are super modern with slick furniture and a large flat panel TV. I couldn't get off the chaise lounge for like 2 hours! We headed down to the Hot Tub where we enjoyed a great conversation with a regular visitor from LA. It's the only place she stays in Ojai and went on an on about how much she's enjoyed staying at the Capri regularly. Christopher at the front desk is obviously passionate about this place and makes you feel right at home. Highly recommended. Great experience. more

pretty prefect 3/18/2011

i spent a few days of my vacation this year at the Capri with the lady friend and our dogs. It's nothing fancy, but i was not looking for fancy. i just wanted to relax for a few days at a dog friendly spot. We were there during the week, and we were probably the only guests. it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We could let the dogs go nuts on the big lawns while we swam and drank tall cans in the pool. Our room had a little yard attached to it that the dogs could snoop around in at night. The AC unit was loud, but who cares. all in all it was pretty prefect. more

Affordable Ojai 3/14/2011

This Hotel was worth every penny. our room was large and faced the pool area we had a great patio that our dog jeff just loved. the breakfast was good even though it was limited to cold foods the staff was super and we will be back more

Great place to stay and Christopher makes it AWESOME!! 3/11/2011

This little gem is a great place to stay with kids and pets. The rooms are clean and the beds are really comfortable. The selling point for me is the staff. The manager, Christopher, is so nice and accommodating. He knows Ojai like the back of his hand and can guide you to wherever and whatever you want to do. We have been there twice now and intend to keep going back. more

I had a business meeting in the area and ended up finding this amazing place to stay in breath taking Ojai Ca. Christopher directed me to the best of food options and nightlife and breakfast! If you know the right places to go in this little town your stay will be unforgettable and thank god this establishment has a person like Christopher to help with this! I at first was hesitant to share this information since i wanted to keep it as my personal find but this place is a place to be shared more

Lovely!! 3/8/2011

This was our first trip to Ojai and we were so glad to have chosen the Capri Motel as our place to stay. Although the Capri Motel does not say much from the outside our thoughts completely changed when we first entered our room. It was very bright and clean; the bed was very comfy and the white linens were like the ones we have at home! A nice touch was the huge flat screen tv with dvd player as well as the Ipod dock station . All this felt great once we were back from our hike and we had such a nice place to wind down and sleep away. We are already planning a date to go back!! more

Great Stay Worth Every penny will be back 3/4/2011

Best stay ever WOW the must have sunk a million dollars into this small gem of a hotel. two pools and cabanas were located on the large lawwn just outside my room and the view of the golf course made the room perfect. Capri in ojai was a true joy for the wife as well she took one of the hotels free bikes and played tennis and the went to the spa. The sevice was great and the breakfest fresh and free we will be back at the Ojai Capi more
