Slightly budget but what's not to love about $6 movie tickets on a Friday night... And a great place to see the movies you were too behind the times to get to. Parking does suck...

Capitol Theatre 5/16/2006

Though the interior might be a bit sparse, this old-fashioned cinema offers a bargain with its $6.50 tickets. Showing movies that have been out anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, it hardly seems fair to call it a second-run cinema, since many films come to the theatre while they're still in the more mainstream ones. And not only are the tickets cheaper, but the snacks are cheaper here too. Plus this theatre, along with the Somerville Theatre, is one of the few remaining that still serve real butter on the popcorn instead of artificial stuff. So come for the movies, but enjoy the classic facade and the snacks while you're there! more

Slightly budget but what's not to love about $6 movie tickets on a Friday night... And a great place to see the movies you were too behind the times to get to. Parking does suck, but many places are free if you get a space, and it's a cute little part of Mass Ave to walk down. more

Charming theatre in a nice location 10/24/2005

This is a great movie theatre if you want to see those blockbuster movies that you missed, or to view some wonderful indepedent films. The screening rooms are small but cozy, and there aren't as many advertisements before the movie as bigger chain movie theatres. The location is also good, because it's near some interesting gift shops, bakeries and restaurants. The only problem may be the parking, or lack of parking rather. There's no parking lot, and nearby street parking is a bit limited, especially on busy nights. more

Second rate movies in a charming atmosphere 8/18/2005

Did not catch that summer blockbuster over 4th of July weekend? Not to worry, you can enjoy it at the Capitol Theater in Arlington. At the Capital Theater you can see movies, including blockbusters, low budget, foreign films and children's movies, about three to five weeks out of their national release date for about 3 dollars less. The Capitol Theater offers an old charm and the theaters themselves harken back to an older time. They offer a wide selection of movies, a variety of show times and an excellent yet still inexpensive concession stand. Overall, it you are looking to see that movie that came out a month ago that everyone seems to be talking about, consider coming into Arlington for the Capitol Theater. more

Cheap Thrills 8/15/2005

This is a nice and cheap alternative to big chain movie theatres. They don't play the newest releases, but after a few weeks after movies are released, the find themselves at the capital for about half of the price that they normally are. This is accesibble by taking the bus although it is pretty far away from Boston. more

Greatest Movie Selection 5/29/2005

The capitol theater in Arlington has some great second-time-around movies, great popcorn and good prices. Spacious theaters and it's just a nice place. more
