Angelica is the queen of bait and switch. She lists great sounding (but not TOO great sounding) apartments for rent on Craigslist and then insists you meet her at her office (dead giveaway that she's baiting and switching.) I was in a couple weeks ago...my roomate made the mistake of falling for this...so after she has us waiting outside in the cold for 10 minutes she arrives...and what do you know...the apartment you came in for, I just got a deposit on it! But she has another one for $500 more that she can show you. So today we are looking again...we didn't know it but we ended up calling about the same apartment from two weeks ago and it's Angelica. She wants you to sign paperwork immediately...god knows what's in that paperwork. She just is shady from start to end. If you refuse to sign your life away by filling out her paperwork then she says she doesn't want to work with you. This is from calling about an apartment that she has listed on Craigslist! Why can't we see the apartment without agreeing to work with her? She's shady. Avoid. I'd hate to see how difficult she is to work with later in the process. Seeing the place is the easy part! more

Tip? Get a new job! Angelica is the worst realtor I have ever met. She is racists, ignorant and incompetent. She said Americans are dirty, meanwhile her daughter is American and Angelica could use some pointers on brushing her disgusting hair. She also rented me an illegal apartment. The whole transaction was illegal and with the worst landlords who turn off the heat and make unreasonable demands like no guests. I do not recommend using Angelica for anything! more

When I first met Angelica, she seemed perfectly nice. Then she seemed disorganized but well meaning. Then she seemed incompetent. Then she seemed deceitful and manipulative. Then she seemed mentally ill. She showed me an apartment in Astoria in a rent stabilized building and told me if I wanted the place, I had to sign a two year lease. I asked her if, by law, the landlord was required to give me a one year option. She said she didn't know about that, she only knew I had to sign a two year lease. I figured this was a minor detail that would get sorted out. A few days later she told me I had been approved for the apartment and that I should come by and drop off the deposit. When I walked in, she was typing up the lease for me to sign. I told her I wished to sign a one-year lease. She told me that wasn't an option. I told her that I had contacted the Department of Housing and confirmed that as a rent stabilized building, I had the right to sign a one-year lease (this is true). I gave her a very, very courteous letter to give to the landlord, explaining my position. I attached a fact sheet provided to me by the Department of Housing confirming the law. She became very angry with me. She put the typewriter away and started telling me that I hadn't actually been ""confirmed"" by the landlord. I asked her why she was typing a lease for me to sign. She didn't answer. I asked her if the landlord knew she was typing a lease for me to sign. She said, no, he didn't know. We went through something like an Abbott and Costello routine and then finally she said she would deliver my letter to the landlord, with my check. The next day she called me back and told me the landlord told her the building is NOT rent stabilized, therefore, he was not required to offer a one-year lease. I asked if she confirmed this. She said she did not. I placed a call to the Department of Housing. They confirmed the building in question WAS indeed rent stabilized. I texted Angelica this news, she did not respond. I texted her twice more -- giving her the benefit of the doubt and assuming she would be angry at the landlord for lying to her. She never replied. The next day I sent her a very polite email wondering if she had spoken with the landlord. She never replied. Finally I went to her office to talk to her and pick up my voided check. I asked her if she had anything she wanted to tell me. She said no. Nothing. I asked if she had spoken with the landlord. Here's where it gets really insane. She started yelling at me that I was harassing her and that she was going to call the cops!!! I told her that she had broken the law by denying me a one-year lease, and that I would be reporting her to the Department of Licensing. When I asked for her last name, she said, ""Look it up!!"" I told her that I had tried to look it up already, but that I could find no record of her, or her business actually existing. She is not registered with any Realty organization. Her business is not on file with any agency. I asked her again for her last name and her licensing number. She said, ""That's it, I'm calling the cops!!!"" I really believe -- and I'm not trying to be demeaning here -- but I really believe the woman is mentally ill. Her depths of deceit, nastiness, and downright delusions are severe. Whatever her problem, do not work with her!!! more

I think it's funny how all these ppl with their bad reviews complain and write mean things about Angelica but you continued to do business with her!!!!! If she didn't return your phone calls after so many times or she cancelled on you at the last minute, why did ""You"" continue to call her and go meet her???? She runs her own business and if you noticed while sitting her in waiting room for hours...that she is a one woman team. The fact that she has so many clients probably too many that she can't keep up says alot about her. Obviously she is doing something right. She has great apartments. I agree she could brush up her customer service skills but she cleary has no time with so many ppl interested in her business. She bascically cuts to the chase, she has no time for small talk, she finds nice apartments for her customers she gets her cut and everyone is happy.. So if you want the special treatment or need that extra special attention then go to Manhattan or to century 21 or another well known reality and pay more money. I was very happy with the service I recieved and love my apartment in Astoria. I would and have reccomended ppl to her. Pros: love my apt Cons: you have to keep up. more

Where to start? The first time we were supposed to see an apartment with her she missed our appointment time by an hour and half without so much as a phone call. Eventually managed to show us a nice 2 bedroom for $1625/month for the start of the following month. We were hesitant to deal with her, but we liked the apartment. After a week of jerking us around she told us the apartment had suddenly cost $1700/month and the start date was the middle of this month. But good news, she could offer us another apartment she showed that had suddenly jumped from $1575/month to $1600. Based on other reviews, it's safe to say she lies about the rent in the hopes that you commit to the point where you're too invested to turn it down - just awful practices not to mention lacking in basic social skills. Believe me when I say this woman has a reputation among clients and fellow realors (two of whom literally recoiled at the mention of her name). However nice the apartment is, it's not worth dealing with Angelica - she'll just waste your time. Pros: Not a one Cons: Deceitful, manipulative, frequently late/unavailable, etc. more

Angelica is the worst thing to come to NYC reality market; she gives murder and rapist a good name. After meeting with her you feel so dirty that you have been shoved into the city dump. This woman a liar and so stupid that she gave me someone else's BANKING INFORMATION!!! Run far away from this ugly b*tch. The only thing she is good for is as a cum dumpster. Avoid at ALL costs!! i saw angelica's ad on craigslist for a very nice apartment. everything from there went down hill. there are too many negative things to list but certain things that stand out to me are: - we agreed on apartment on 3rd floor (we even got a signed receipt from her with the apt number after giving her a deposit) but on the lease she put a different apartment and claimed to never agree on the 3rd floor apartment with us. - wanted her fee a month before we even moved in - never told the building we were moving in, so our apartment wasn't ready on the start date of our lease - never answers your calls unless you call her from a different number she hasn't seen - hangs up in your face on occasion - not being on time is an understatement, expect an 11am apt to take place at 1:45 if she decides to show up at all - she arbitrarily raises rent prices when she sees you're very interested in an apartment. one day she said the apt would be no more than $1500, when she learned i was getting married and really needed a place, the price suddenly went up to $1750 and she claimed that management decided to increase rents i promise you there are more things but it pains me to relive the horrible experience of dealing with this troll. i promise you if you deal with angelica you will be on this website posting how much your eyes hurt from staring at her yellow teeth and how much you hate nyc realtors. do yourself a favor and just stay put where you currently live, or find yourself another real estate agent. Angelica is a predatory shark and she could run with the best of the real estate crooks in Manhattan. She brought us to the worst slumlords in queens- the Pistilli, who subsequently were the WORST MANAGEMENT I have ever dealt with (and I've been renting for my 11 years). We ended up living there for a year, which was the worst apt.e xperience of my life. It made me lose faith in humanity and I WAS an eternal optimist. Angelica, capital realty and the pistillis give new york a bad name. I DO NOT RECOMMEND working with Capital Realty. She took a commission and lied and said she had ""an exclusive"" on the place. I agree with all the opinions about Angelica being disorganized and busy, but she found me a great apartment at a great price so I can't complain. All you have to do is know that there will always be someone waiting ahead of you and make sure to call ahead of time and remind her that you're coming to see her. If you do that and are patient, she will definitely find you a great apartment. more

I would recommend Angelica to anyone looking for an apartment in Astoria, because she has a huge amount of inventory and keys so you aren't wasting time contacting landlords just to see the apt. I used several brokers in Astoria and no one has the quality and quantity that Angelica has. I love my new apartment. With that in mind she is really really busy, as a result you will probably hate working with her. She can't remember your name, won't return your calls, she's always late, and there's often someone already waiting for her in front of you. Often you feel like you are working for her, then the other way around. It's really hard finding a no fee apt in Astoria, or else I would say don't waste your money and go that route. Unfortunately landlords in Astoria just don't operate that way. Having used other brokers Angelica's listings were by far the best. Many brokers didn't even have one apt to show me, so I would definitely have her show you some units before deciding on a place because you will get a better idea of range and price. Angelica from Capital Realty LLC. is not the professional she pretends to be. Do not contact her for any reason. Do not even step near her office. I had the most terrifying experience in my life with her so called ""broker service"". She never got the phone on a first try, she put me on hold every time I was lucky enough to reach her, she was extremely rude by telling me ""Nobody is that difficult"" and wasted my time by not answering 90% of my questions. Instead she gave me some general and made-up answers. On the top of everything I found out that not all the offers, she published are real. She only put them on-line in order to get contacted. And when somebody does she tells them that that place is gone, but she has another one at the moment and it has a higher price. When I read the reviews, written by all the people before me- it is like they took the words about this woman out of my mouth. Save yourself the headache and find another broker to help you. I first spoke to Angelica after seeing one of her postings on craigslist for a 2 bedroom apt. I should of know something was not right when a saw the rent was 1802. Who posts an apartment for an odd amount like that. I called her twice to set up an appointment and both times the only thing she said was how much are you willing to spend and I'll call you back. Both times she never called me back. I called her a third time to set up an appointment for today Saturday March 7th. After that phone call I decided to look her company up and for these reviews on city search. I though only people who had bad experiences would write this and that Angelica could not be that bad. I called her one more time and left a message that I read some poor reviews about her missing appointments. I work alot of hours and was taking off saturday to see the apt. She finally returned a call at midnight friday night. Midnight? I began thinking maybe these reviews were right. Then for the finally. I get a call one hour before our appointment - she leaves a message saying the apartment had been rented and she'd be in touch. I called her back told her she is completely unprofessional and to lose my number. Do yourself a favor. If you do come to this site and read this review do not do business with Angelica. If not to save yourself a headache then do it for me. I'd love to see go out of business and panhandling on broadway for money. The I could be like ha-- who's laughing now :) more

Where to begin? This is probably the worst experience I've ever had with a broker. First of all, she can not keep track of her schedule. My boyfriend and I scheduled an appointment with her and she asked me to call prior to coming to give her a ""heads up"". I called her 30 minutes prior and she said that she had us scheduled for the following day. When I told her that we could see her at the time she mis-scheduled us for, all of a sudden she had a Christening to go to and couldn't see us until later in the day. When we finally met and she was driving us to the property, she was more interested in asking us about other apartments we had seen rather than tell us about her properties. Why? Because she doesn't know the properties well enough. She told us that the building was a year old. Upon researching the building, it was renovated in 2006 - so, it's 3 years old. She also could not answer basic questions such as, ""How close are restaurants, pharmacies?,"" ""How many units in the building?,"" etc. She was putting on makeup (eyeliner) WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING through busy Astoria traffic. When we got to the property and my boyfriend and I got out of the car, she stayed in the car for 3 minutes shuffling papers around. When she finally got out of the car, I asked her a question and she put up one finger to silence me, because she was on her phone with another client! When we got to the apartment, she took yet another call. She was very rude and called us ""crazy"" for looking at so many apartments (we told her that we had seen a bunch the day prior). She also tried to show us a 16 year old unit that hadn't been renovated that was out of our price range when we told her we only wanted to see recently renovated units and buildings. She then drove us back to the office and dropped us off at her door as she sped off to see another client! I do not know HOW she stays in business! Pros: None. Cons: Everything. more

Very bad experience, I'm relieved my experience with this lady is over: always late (1 hour on average), tells you to come at a specific time and you see many other clients ""scheduled"" for the same exact time (""come whenever policy"" and then you wait as long as she tells you (the most i waited - 2.5 hours), forgets you and arrangements she has made with you, comes with new requirements even though you provided everything you were supposed to, she then adds more and more and more..., terribly (believe me) disorganized, rude, wants you to pay immediately then doesn't have a key for you...(all she cares about is her money that she wants to get from your pocket asap), lies, two faced, no norm, rules established, makes you run and rush like crazy; creates havoc, no empathy whatsoever. She is in business because some apartments she got to ""manage"" are nice enough. Hopefully everyone who booked through her will file some sort of complaint, so she finally reconsiders her lack of business ethics and either changes or will be out of business. Angelica is a very deceitful woman. Use Zikos Realty instead (33rd - Astoria Boulevard). They have really great listings and a professional approach. Wow !!! she greets you very well and gives a nice smile but in fact she is very rracissst. If you are an Indian, or Persian and probably from other nationality don't even bother going to her office because she WILL NOT HELP find an apartment. I went to her office over 5 times looking for an apartment and every time I went there she made me wait and pretended in calling owners for me. I think Angelica IS NOT a professional agent. We thought we had found a genuine realtor compared to our Manhattan realtors in the past when we first met Angelica. It was my fiance and one of my roommates who fell in love with a beautiful apartment in Astoria. When my other roommate, who was out of town came to view the apartment, he came home and said that he hated her. He said that she brought her daughter along to view the apartment and that her daughter was talking constantly, wanting to play games when all he wanted to do was view the apartment. Not only that, but he revealed to us that Angelica was rude and wouldn't answer his questions with a straight answer. So, after deciding we wanted the apartment, we called Angelica to schedule a lease signing and a way to put down the deposits. Instead of great customer service, she kept mispronouncing our names and couldn't remember who we were or what our move in date was, not even which apartment we were taking!!! When we went to finally sign the lease, she was very rude and when we asked her questions, all she said was,""Keep reading, keep reading"" in her smug tone. Then she threw a surprise realtor's fee on us, when we thought it had already been included. Not once did we get a breakdown for what we were supposed to pay and every single time she was disorganized and completely out of it. She couldn't even find our lease for 20 minutes! So on our move in date, she told us at the office to meet her at the apartment building at 1:30 for our move in . The boys arrived and started moving in and when I called Angelica, she claimed she never said that and to talk to ""What's his name..."" MY FIANCE! After 4 meetings, you'd think that she would remember who we were. No. ANGELICA SEEMS SHE HAS TOO MUCH ON HER PLATE TO PERFORM STANDARD CUSTOMER SERVICE. SHE IS RUDE. SMUG. AND VERY UNETHICAL. IF WE WEREN'T IN LOVE WITH THE APARTMENT, WE WOULD HAVE TOLD HER TO F**K OFF AND WENT BACK TO MANHATTAN. SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DO HER JOB WELL AND IS VERY TWO FACED! STAY FAR AWAY! STAY AWAY!!!!! I am disappointed in myself for even paying Angelica any type of fee considering the absolute inconsideration and lack of service that we received. If we werent absolutely in love with the apt and she wasn't the only realtor able to rent the apartment I would have run fast away from her.
