A repairman came to our house to diagnose/repair our Kitchenaid microwave (which is part of a combined microwave/oven, 8 years old). He told us the problem was either the door switches or the control board. After looking at it he said it was not the door switches and was likely the control board. He said a new control board, however, might not be reliable and suggested that, in the long run, we'd be better off just to buy a new microwave/oven combination. \r

He said he would replace the control board if we wished, but he would have to order that part. We said we'd consider what we wanted to do, and would let him know how we wanted to proceed. We decided to go ahead with the repair. I called his company the next day and left a message for a callback, but never heard back. I called back again later that same day and spoke with someone who said the repairman would call me back within an hour. \r
