I was interested in using this kennel for a trip I was planning to the area. I read the review by ""suchender"" and thought I should investigate the claim of abuse before I boarded there. I talked to the proprietor and found that the dog in question was obviously not accustomed to being boarded, and showed his anxiety by barking and howling incessantly. The proprietor acted by removing this dog from the kennel population as soon as possible to reduce the possibility of creating stress in the entire population of the boarding area. The proprietor told me that it was definitely NOT her desire to have the dog in the same room as she was in because of the incessant noise, but she felt that it was in the best interests of the other dogs. I checked with a kennel in my area, and they concurred with her actions. They have had to do the same thing on several occasions. I beleive that if the proprietor had left the disruptive animal in the general population her inaction would have been abusive to every dog in the kennel. As for asking that the dog be fitted with a ""bark collar"" I believe that this was a subtle message to the dog's owner to board elsewhere.
