Do not go here! they DO NOT have any knowledge of hair color they ruined my color and it looks terrible! They say they have many years of experience but no way! they rush and my hair felt stiff after having my hair done like straw. I advise everyone not to go here! my hair looked much better before having it done here. more

Candace reed has a magnificiant staff that always greets you and handle you with care and respect. They knew exactly how to handle my stubborn,curly, frizzy hair of mine. My stylist suggested to give my a Brizilian treatment which made my hair MUCH easier to handle and VERY shinny. I would definitely recommend all women/men to visit Candace Reed if you have a hair situation that you can't handle. more

I walked in to the salon unsure what I really wanted. Sitting down in her chair I asked for her advice. I never looked better. She suggested a new style and put some color to cover my early grey hair. The compliments have been numerous. Have referred her to all my friends looking for a great hair style. more

After reading the complements of happy clients, and unhappy clients, i decieded to address the complaints. i have been in the hair dressing business for over 44 years, the average experence of salon stylists is 18 years. we specialize in hair coloring and color correction. we also do all phases of chemical service, hair relaxing with keratin and permanent waving. the salon is proffessionally cleaned 4 times a week, the smocks, that protect your clothes are washed after every service.. this is a color salon, and we do color hair dark brown, witch will stain a perfectly good towel. although the towel is clean, the brown stain will remain on the towel, this can not be helped. some of the nicest people in the world are smokers, I was one of the 1st. salons in the city to become a non-smoking salon many years ago. there are 2 benches out side the salon were people go to smoke. yes, One of our stylists is a smoker and does take a smoke break while his client is getting a shampoo. not during the service. the 4 hour hair relaxing treatment takes 4 hours to complete if done correctly. the flat ironing process takes 2 hours of this time. he will take a 10 min break half way through, to rest his arms and yes, to smoke outside the salon. this is the only time he ever leaves a client to smoke. he may smell of smoke, but I don't understand how this smell could tranfer into someones hair. I do not talk of my stylist personal life with clients, this is no-ones business but there own, going to court for traffic violations is not the end of the world. we work very close to people, sometime they come in sick, not wanting to cancel an appointment. In most cases we wish they would, instead we get the cold and have to stay home, in order not to get the rest of the staff and our clients sick. If you are booked weeks in advance, sometimes it is difficult to get back in right away. sorry that this happened, but we are human. I personally am a member of the council of the101,, orlando museum of art. every year our biggest fund raiser of the year is,,,THE FESTIVAL OF TREES,, this event takes months to produce. yes, it involes christmas trees, I am very proud of the work the 101 does. I do talk up the festival as november approches. I also do cat rescue, I have 4 cats of my own, and do try to take cats off the street, have them fixed, then try to find them good homes. Right now I have a beautiful male maincoon, 2 years old named Reily , he is peach colored and needs a good home. this salon is kept very clean, and passes state inspection every year without violation. I wish everyone could come for a visit with one of our great stylist, then. please decide for yourself more

My hair was starting to look scary shabby. I have a few job interviews coming up so I really wanted to get it cut and looking stylish and professional. The salon I had been going to is good but with gas prices like they are it is just too far from where I live. There was a few girls from my sports team that just got their hair cut and they both looked really good so I inquired as to where they got them done. They told me about Candace Reed Hair Design and this amazing stylist there named Ive. I was so happy because Candace Reed is literally five minutes from my house and I knew the woman did good work. I called and booked an appointment with her the next day. The receptionist was super friendly and they were able to get me in to see her that week. I did my usual hair research and printed out hair reference images to bring to my appointment. I was excited and nervous because I am trying to grow my hair out and had pictures for the grown out style but wasn't sure exactly what the intermediary look would be. My appointment day came and I drove the five mins to CRHD giddy with anticipation. I was immediately greeted with a smile upon entering by the receptionist who checked me in and let Ive know I was there. While I waited I enjoyed their comfy couch and thumbed through their hair books to see if there were any more examples in them. I had a pleasant conversation with their receptionist, Chelsea, and I was promptly seated in my stylist's station. The consultation went great. She understood what style my hair was growing out of and the style I wanted to grow into next. She explained how she was going to shape it and the process of growing into the other style. I was super happy with this intermediary style description. It sounded like it was exactly what I was seeking for my job interviews. I relaxed let her work her magic and Oh My Gosh, the end results were amazing! I could not be happier. I looked so chic and professional, I just know I am going to get the job now. I can't thank Ive enough for her awesome work and the rest of the staff for making me feel right at home. They have definitely won themselves a loyal new client. See you in six to eight weeks. more

After losing my longtime stylist, spent a miserable summer last year going from one bad (but recommened) and expensive stylist to another. more

I was a client for years and I noticed things would get worse but I just ignored it because my hairdresser did a great job with my difficult hair. I didn't think anyone could actually make my hair look as good as he did. While my hairdresser was good I couldn't overlook some serious issues. He always smelled like cigareetes and would leave to smoke while he was doing my hair. I walked out of there smelling like an ashtry. He would also his phone while he was with me and just walk outside. This made me furious and I even mentioned it once. He is a great hairdresser but he just didn?t treat me how I wanted to be treated. I just kept letting things go because I was afraid to find someone new. The final straw for me was about six weeks ago when my appointment was cancelled twice because the receptionist said Larry was sick. Well when I come in for my appointment the owner is talking to a woman about him having to go to court because he was arrested! I don?t know the details and frankly I don?t want too but it really made me angry that they just chose to lie to me. It?s sad because this salon used to be really nice but now it?s just sort of dumpy. Theres always people sitting in the lobby with there laptops and the employees seem to live on their phones. The nighttime receptionist is nice but she?s covered in tattoos, when I asked her what was a good shampoo she recommended that I go to Whole Foods or Chamberlins! She also booked tow of my appointments on the wrong day. She doesn?t pay a lot of attention and is always talking about gory and inappropriate things. Its not really the image I would want to represent my salon. The place is also really dirty and cluttered. Thers stuff all over the lobby and most of it looks like stuff from a flea market. The products are old and covered in dust and the last time I was there the smock had a big ball of hair in it and the towels were absolutely disgusting and brown. Where they wash your hair there is at least 6 inches of dust on the ceiling. If they can?t keep the salon clean, what about the brushes they?re using in my hair. The last thing that really bothered me is the owner. Ive been a client in her salon for many years and she?s never said more than 2 owrds to me. When I?ve tried to make conversation she always talks about her cats or Christmas trees. She never once asked me how I was or how I liked my hair. As a woman who gave her a lot of money I think I deserve more and luckily I found a place where they do good work and treat me well. more

I have been getting my hair done now for years by Dolly . It has never felt or looked better than when I leave the salon! She has also given me the Keratin treatment and is very knowledgeable when it comes to hair color. Would definitely continue and refer her to others! I don't know the person who ranted on earlier about Candace Reed but I have NEVER had a problem there. :) more

So after almost 2 years of being a loyal client: Going exclusively to Nicole for my color and keratin treatments, even following her from one salon to one further away from my house when she switched employers, referring her to countless potential clients, offering to give her a ride to work when she was unable to drive, showing up on time and waiting for her to arrive LATE, EVERY TIME! - at the MINIMUM 15 minutes, usually 30, one time she did not even show up at all after I had waited in the parking lot with no access to even the inside lobby, luckily I had her personal cell phone number and called her only to find out she was having a ""bad day"" and could not make it to my appointment, ALWAYS TIPPING GENEROUSLY, her own admission that I was one of her ""TOP 5 Clients"", here is what I received in return: more

I went in for a change in color--- had my consultation- they had said everything would be fine.I would end up with just as healthy of hair as I started with so I made the appnt. She turned my hair into a FRO- fried my hair- I had to not only dye it back to my oringinal color but I had to CHOP my hair that was almost to my waist above my shoulders! I now have to spend 2 hrs getting my hair to just look good enough to walk out in public. The owner was a (u know what) and so unapologetic-. So unprofessional. IF THE STYLIST WOULD HAVE DONE A STRAND TEST LIKE EVERY OTHER GOOD STYLIST DOES FIRST-----I WOULD STILL HAVE MY BEAUTIFUL HAIR----BUT NO----UUHHHHH SAVE YOURSELF YOUR $$$$ AND DONT GO TO THIS SALON!!! JSL HAIR SALON IN MAITLAND (LINDA) AMAZING---SHE IS THE ONLY GOOD THING that came out of this situation---she awesome! more
