CAMP CANINE began in early 1999 following a personal experience that I had when I left my dog with a dog sitter. I felt uncomfortable about leaving my 4-legged child with a complete stranger, which led me to do some research on pet daycare and boarding in Palm Beach and Broward County. I soon discovered that the options were very limited. I immediately knew what the future would hold for me. My mission was to create the best doggie daycare and boarding facility where people could leave their pets knowing they are happy and well cared for. Starting a new business is never an easy task. I was determined to find the perfect location, conveniently located as well as spacious enough for the dogs to enjoy. After a 6 month search, I found the perfect spot right in the heart of East Boca Raton. Shortly thereafter, I decided that the residents of Broward County would also benefit from a CAMP CANINE facility, so I began to search for a second location. I found the perfect complement to my Boca Raton location, downtown Ft. Lauderdale, right on Broward Blvd. Conveniently located for the huge number of professionals on their way to work as well as minutes to the Ft Lauderdale airport. In the midst of running two companies, I married my wonderful husband, a veteran sergeant with the Broward Sheriffs Office, who helped CAMP CANINE become what it is today. We now have two beautiful children, two dogs, three cats and a thriving family owned business. Now, nearly 10 years after opening the first two stores, we recently opened our third store in East Hollywood, serving residents in South Broward and Northern Dade Counties. Surviving this economy has been difficult for many businesses, but even in the worst of times, peoples' love for their pets has prevailed.
