THe hotel was very reasonable for it's beauty 4/4/2011

Just walking into the hotel gives you an awesome feeling. Our room was clean an spacious. The employees were anxious to help with anything we needed. The best part of the hotel is the lobby bar with its magnificent domed ceiling. Our experience in the Dome Restaurant was one of rare complete ultimate service--worth the high price. It was close enough to the Mexican border that we took the trolly into Juarez and walked back. The hotel was very reasonable for its beauty, location and service. more

Nice Hotel 3/31/2011

The hotel overall was nice, but could use some upgrades as a lot of the furniture was old and outdate... The showerhead was broken, but other than that, it is a good value for the price. more

Pleasant stay in an old historic hotel 3/30/2011

Nice Hotel great service The hotel is old but clean. I had to be moved from the original room I had because of a loud drippy faucett in the bathroom. The layout of the room is not as conducive to business as some of the newer hotels (electrical outlet not placed close to the desk, etc.) but overall it was a pleasant stay in an old historic hotel located downtown. Much construction in that area now though. more

Excellent service to hotel guest 3/28/2011

Would Recommend this Hotel to others I enjoyed the comfort of the room and the overall presentation. I was greeted at entrance by the gentleman who was monitoring the parking lot and asked if I wanted my bags taken to my room. The gentlemen was very polite and professional. There was a gala for March of Dimes in the hotel when we arrived and the gentlemen in the parking lot still extended excellent service to the hotel guest, which was very impressive. more

Nice Hotel 3/25/2011

Overall is good, Room is clean and nice view, especially bar is amazing. Also, location in central down town, but I felt that there are a deserted town, there are no amusement quarters. more

Great Hotel 3/21/2011

Beautiful downtown building restored with a modern touch on the inside. Friendly staff and impecably clean rooms. The best hotel I have been to in El Paso, and I have been to several. more

Camino Real Hotel is a great location to downtown 3/18/2011

Great room for the money This hotel is in a great location downtown with easy access to the freeway. The restaurant consistently puts on a great breakfast buffet. The museum of art is next door and has outdoor entertainment in the evenings. Lots of shopping and entertainment nearby. Hotel has excellent service. more

The view of El Pason from the top floors were breathe taking 3/16/2011

Excellent Hotel This hotel was great for an old hotel, and the location to down town was excellent. The view of El Paso from the top floors were breathe taking. When we were there the hotel had a Christmas tree and holiday decorations, and the lobby and mezzining area had some paintings. more

Wonderful old hotel 3/11/2011

We loved this hotel and its beautiful bar with the Tiffany dome and two really good restaurants - one casual and one 'fine dining'. The people were wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Only 2 drawbacks for us: The first is that we were there without a car and the neighborhood shuts down at 5 or 6 pm and there are not a lot of restaurants within walking distance. However, the valets were extremely helpful and shuttled us back and forth to restaurants, the zoo, a movie, etc. for tips. The second is that the workout room is small with limited equipment and the rooftop pool is also small. But, that didn't seem to be a problem because neither place filled up when we were there. We would certainly stay at the Camino Real again. more

Nice Staycation 3/8/2011

Great Service, clean room, Easy check in, easy check out. Nice lounge. more

Very old but amazingly charming 3/4/2011

The hotel is really old and the rooms are a bit out dated - old bed frames, old furniture - kind of what you'd expect to see in a bed and breakfast in the Texas Hill Country. But - the architecture more than makes up for the oldness. The hotel lobby, bar, restaurants, and staircase are simply beautiful - definitely a must see.... more

A real gem! 3/3/2011

This hotel surpassed our expectations by far. The lobby was gorgeous, the rooms very large and elegant, and offered a fabulous full breakfast. This is one of the best bargains in hotels I've had in a long time. more

Camino Real Hotel is beautiful 3/1/2011

Camino Real makes El Paso worth it We had never been to El Paso so we checked the web. We were amazed by the Camino Real hotel webpage, but who believes these pictures? However, the actual hotel surpassed our expectations. It is an historic hotel in a plaza with other cultural buildings (a performing arts center and a museum). The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated - wood, marble and a huge stained glass dome encompassing the bar. This elegant atmosphere made our margharitas taste so much better. Near the bar was a 4 diamond restaurant that was a bit too pricey for our present vacation which was to visit Big Bend and other national parks. Our rooms were spacious and decorated with furnishings unlikely to be found in an American hotel chain. Each floor was nicely decorated (we checked!). The lobby showcased artwork with huge paintings of horses, native Americans etc. done by local artists. The hotel staff was helpful and suggested restaurants even though there were two in the hotel. This stay set a nice tone for the trip. We were there for only two days and I wouldn't look any further were we to find a reason to be in the El Paso area again. more

Lovely hotel 2/25/2011

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of downtown - great to see anything at the Plaza Theater or the El Paso Museum of Art as they are right across the street. The ambiance of the bar is everything it's cracked up to be - but the drinks are overpriced, and if you hit them on a busy night, their pour leaves a little something to be desired. THe rooms were neat and tidy, and the view was spectacular. I would stay there again. THe hotel staff is very courteous and friendly. The room service food is ok - not great but ok. more

Great room for the money 2/23/2011

Our stay at the Camino Real was excellent in every way. Our room was big and clean. The hotel staff were very helpful. We took advantage of the free airport shuttle. The restaurants were very good. I would highly recommend this hotel to others. more

Lovely hotel 2/4/2011

We were very pleased with our stay!! I wasn't too sure of staying at the Camino Real due to other reviews. However, I'm glad I saw it for myself. The staff was very helpful and the rate I got was very reasonable. We will be staying at the Camino Real each and every time we visit El Paso. more

everything it was gorgeous 2/3/2011

the hotel had an amazing view and it was perfect more

Very nice 2/2/2011

Very nice and comfortable I would stay here any day before staying at a cookie-cutter hotel of the same price! It was very comfortable and nice to be in a building with a little style and history. I was very happy with the location. It is in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of anything I needed. I had a south facing corner room on the 6th floor and had a great view of the city and of Juarez. more
