wow - kind of freaked out by the brochures on ""speaking in tongues"". Then hearing from my friend that people at the church believe her daughter is posessed because she is going through a rough time right now and ended up in the hospital. Calvary - people in need are people in need. Cater to them already. Isn't this what God demands we do??? I think this church may be stuck in ancient times and a bit cult-ish. more

Calvary really has something for everyone. The sermons (we love Pastor Ross)are always rellevent to modern times and there could not be a better sense of community. Great for families. We are so thankful we came here. more

A great place to worship the Lord and receive His blessings via the sermons. Pastoral staff does a very nice job with all of the groups and there are plenty of groups to choose from. Regardless of your Christian denomination (Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, etc.) you will always feel welcome. As Pastor Ross always says "How many churches are there in Chicago? One church and that is the church of God." more

Calvary Church - Sunday Service - Awesome! 1/17/2006

My husband and I are baptized and raised in the Catholic faith - we were looking for something more -- God led us to Calvary Church -- its services are a "God-send" for us. We love it -- the songs stay in my head all week and we both can't wait to get to next Sunday's worship service -- Pastor Ross is truly a "gift from God" -- we leave there feeling blessed. Big yes, cold no 11/7/2005

Yeah, it's a big church. Yep, a lot of people attend. Nope, you won't feel left out. It's amazing to see that in a place so huge, you can feel so seen and appreciated. The benefit of a big church is the opportunities for service. If you feel like you should be working in some capacity, I'd wager that Calvary has a ministry suited to you. From Believer's Life Institute to the Home Groups, you'll feel spriritually challeneged. The praise is out of this world, and wait till you hear a sermon of Pastor Ross. more
