I Found What I Was Looking For... 5/18/2010

I attended Catholic Church as a child and a young adult and never really felt part of the church. I stopped attending because I was looking for a church with more meaning. I found it with Calvary Church in Naperville. I feel knowlegeable about the bible. I like the diversity of the church and the caring spirit it offers. I feel good when I leave this church, not brainwashed, just better. more

Church or Television Show 12/24/2009

Good: Lots of events organized by the church, separate, extra service for teens on Wednesdays.. Bad: It seems like a television program. There are multiple cameras filming during the mass. The preacher seemed as if he was acting the entire time, and trying to entertain the audience rather that providing a meaningful message.. Improvements: A change from the out of date "gays are sinners" point of view.. Other: The whole church seems as if it is put together for a reason apart from bringing people closer to God. I would not bring my children here.. more

My church home 1/16/2006

I was going to say my family stumbled onto Calvary, but how can you stumble across a church as large as an airport or college? Anyway, we found Calvary and do not plan on leaving anytime soon. The worship is phenomenal and the sermon are truly inspired. The children's ministry is awesome, with something for children regardless of their age. It is a true family centered church. A word to the wise, however. Calvary is an Assemblies of God church, so prepare accordingly for the service. It is a spirit filled place. more

Big yes, cold no 11/9/2005

Yeah, it's a big church. Yep, a lot of people attend. Nope, you won't feel left out. It's amazing to see that in a place so huge, you can feel so seen and appreciated. The benefit of a big church is the opportunities for service. If you feel like you should be working in some capacity, I'd wager that Calvary has a ministry suited to you. From Believer's Life Institute to the Home Groups, you'll feel spriritually challeneged. The praise is out of this world, and wait till you hear a sermon of Pastor Ross. more
