Calico Corners

Being acquainted with Calico Corners for more than 20 years, I must say this is the only place I would shop if I needed custom furniture or interior design projects for my home. I have always found the employees to be very helpful if I needed furniture ordered, bedspreads designed and constructed or draperies for my home. The sales ladies have always been very patient and helpful with me when I had questions about a project I was working on. The couch I ordered from them in the late 90's is still in excellent condition as it is well built to last a life-time, as well as the four occasional chairs. They even made the slip covers for when I need a change of style. I cannot imagine shopping anywhere else for my home design projects and will always count on them to be professional and helpful. more

I went in today with my husband at around 3 p.m. We were browsing for fabric to make our own curtains. When we walked in, I saw one of the employees near the door and said hello, but she did not even look up and smile or say hi back to me. Then after 10 minutes of browing no one even came to assist us with anything. When someone finally did, she was extremely rude. She asked us what she could help us with, but no smiles, no nothing. I responded by saying that I was looking for curtains, but the silk ones over there look abit heavy for summertime. This lady was terribly rude and cut me off mid-way in my sentence, was condescending with her responses : ""well, THATS because those are samples"".\r ""Well yeah, we do that to protect the fabric"". \r \r Needless to say we left the shop without purchasing anything. \r She was curt, short and unfriendly. It was our first time there, but I NEVER want to go back there again. I'll stick with Hancock Fabrics and the other fabric shops , because at least the people working there are nice and don't look at you like you're a pest entering their store. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Cons: Rude employees. more
