They may appear very friendly when you walk through the door, but when a problem with their work arises, they don't make it right. I was rear ended and my rear bumper needed a touch up due to a couple of deep scratches left by the other car's front license plate. On my Honda, like many newer vehicles, all the body panels have a ""tamper-proof"" sticker with the serial number so any potential buyer down the road can tell if you have replaced the body pieces for one reason or another. Caldwell's shop didn't bother to mask over the sticker and thus painted right over it. Now, it would appear that my car could have been in some major accident that required the entire bumper to be replaced. In the used car world, this decreases the resale price of your car since it draws attention to question its history. When I brought it to their attention, they first tried to blame previous work (none done). They said there was nothing they could do. I understand mistakes happen, but take accountability and make it right! I would not go back as there are too many other good, honest body shops in Charlotte. more

Took my auto to Caldwell after it had been ""repaired"" at another shop in after an accident. How I wish I had the car towed to Caldwell from the start, Caldwell went so far beyond my expectations that I don't know where to begin. Angela at Caldwell found so many items that had not even been addressed at the prior shop. If you need want great work done on your vehicle, so not think of taking it anywhere else. I had a moderate fender bender in my 2 year old Camry and took it to Caldwell for repair. The thing that impressed me most was their attention to detail. They had a rental car there waiting for me, they coordinated everything with my insurance, and they took care of the rental car return at the end. The car looked brand new when I got it back! They also made sure that the insurance covered a 4 wheel alignment in case there was a problem (it was hit near a wheel). Anyone unfortunate enough to have to take their car in for collision repairs should not think twice about making the trip out to Caldwell Collision. Having had my 2010 BMW for only a few weeks, I had the bad luck of being backed into in a parking lot. Caldwell was the first shop recommended by the dealership and I can now see why. They handled all of the insurance work for me and helped coordinate with the rental car company. After a brief wait of a few days, my car was ready for pick-up. When I arrived, I could not believe how perfect the car looked. It is no exaggeration to say it looked even better than it did the day I picked it up new from Hendrick. I rarely write reviews online, but I promised myself I'd find time for Caldwell Collision. The customer service and craftsmanship far exceeds what I would expect and, had the other driver's insurance company not covered damages, I would have been pleased with the cost of the work. These days, body shops are a dime a dozen, but Caldwell stands above the rest. Should I ever again be unfortunate enough to need body work, I will gladly make the trip from Lake Wiley. There is no better place to have auto body work done. I have used another similar business in town. By comparison, Caldwell made the other guys look like they had completed the work with a magic marker. Superior craftsmanship with acute attention to detail. Performs world class work. more
