Their coffee was okay... the atmosphere is funky, and it was fun to people watch... we were at the Capitol Hill location. We tried Victrola the next time we were in Seattle and liked the coffee much better... same funky atmosphere though! more

Worst Service and Coffee in Seattle -- Congrats, Caffe Vita 3/23/2009

HORRIBLE coffee and service. The baristas all have holier-than-thou attitudes and refuse to make good drinks. Been there three times, all someone else's choice, and although the first time was decent, the second time I went my drink tasted seriously funky. I asked them to remake it and they said ""Keep drinking it; it's fine."" Went there last night for the third time, and they burned the beans. All of our drinks were disgusting. This time, thankfully, they remade them all. The baristas are lazy jerks and the coffee isn't fit for Seattle. At all. Ever. No exceptions. BLAK Caffe Vita. I must say the service is totally unfriendly 9/6/2007

I was at the Capital Hill location on Saturday mid morning and I am always met with such disdain. I usually will get an americano when I'm in that part of town which is like twice a month. I've had this schedule now for like almost a year and just .......no one there wants to be at work but being some what human would be nice. The coffee beans are great. Always buy a 1lb. or 2 lbs. worth with my americano. Just not friendly. I always say hi and thanks and leave a tip but I'm thinking about just not going there anymore. I work at Fred Hutch. I'll just get my fix of Cafe Vita there. Not as good of an americano but hey those people are way nicer. Pros: the coffee beans are great and the drinks are made properly Cons: the staff is so rude and just disdains the general public more

Favorite cafe on the hill. 2/18/2007

Sometimes I want to use my laptop, and sometimes I just want to chat with a friend. Caffe Vita is perfect for both. Although the internet connection is a bit slow. The staff look artsy and vain or disconnected but they're all very nice, alert and helpful, and they've always been this way over the years. The coffee is always wonderful and they usually have some good pastries too. Pros: free wifi, great coffee and service more

why so unfriendly? 7/4/2006

great espresso, lousy service. rarely get eye contact, rarely acknowledged... wondering who they are waiting to serve that is up to par? i love the espresso - it's perfectly roasted, but a friendlier staff would do them well - i prefer vivace down the street far and above. Caffe Vita ROCKS Seattle for coffee 10/14/2005

I don't do drip. Double Iced 16oz. lattes X 2. Coffee of choice on vacation though, makes the luggage smell like home, just add Caroline's. Ladro won their awards with Vita coffee, not that organic free trade sh*t they serve now. Warm staff & pet friendly. QA between 7-9a Seattle's best looking women drop in for VITA ! Awesome coffee, great (and cute) baristas! 10/10/2005

I can't think of anything else either. The coffee quality and taste says it all - it's terrific. I'm a coffee fan and I've had coffees from artisan coffee roasters in many places and I've gotta say, Caffe Vita is definitely one of the best I've had. The baristas were so nice and friendly that we ended up chatting about everything! I can't imagine how the other reviewer got bad service; it must've been during a really busy time. My favorite is their ""regular"" coffee, which if you go to other cafes, it's drip. But here, they make with a French press, which produces a full tasting coffee with a full body. At prices lower than the chain cafes, I'm making this a regular stop of my daily commute. more

BEST COFFEE IN SEATTLE 3/28/2004

These guys make excellent coffee. I have everyone in my office hooked on Caffe Vita. The atmosphere is great. They have exciting art on the walls and a large glass window that allows me to see how they roast the coffee. The staff was friendly and answered some questions I had about how the roasting process. I recommend Caffe Vita to anyone who wants to experience coffee at it's finest. Pros: great coffee, great atmosphere, friendly staff more

Rude Staff in Queen Anne 2/27/2003

First let me say that I LOVE Vita coffee. However, when I go out of my way to stop at the Queen Anne location for my favorite drink I am met with very rude service. Last time put me over the top... two women working there unbelievably sized me up as i walked in and gave me obvious looks of scorn when I asked for a double shot capuccino. One of them went so far as to look at me again and mumble ""huh, would have never guessed"". If it wasn't for the coffee, I would have just walked out.. probably should have. This horrible disregard for their customers is pathetic for such a tiny little coffee shop. I will never visit this location again! I would recommend going to the Capitol Hill location or somewhere else if you want to avoid uncessary rudeness and still enjoy good coffee. Bitter grounds 5/23/2002

There must be a ""finishing school"" for barristas to learn good manners. If so, I would recommend the staff at this Cafe attend. Good coffee and eats are pointless when the people at the counter are surly. There are too many welcoming barristas in this town to waste your time at Cafe Vita. Cons: rude, unacommodating more
