Best

My favorite restaurant! I order delivery from Caffe Carrera at least 3 times a week!!!

Worst

The sandwiches we ordered were mediocre. The "creme brulee" was soggy and disgusting...I actually spit it out. Never ordering here again.

Horrible. Waited a hour and a half and the food was cold. Bread was hard and the delivery guy requested I came down to the lobby to get the food! Never again. more

So not worth the over a hour wait for delivery (at a slow time of the day, 3pm). Way over priced for what you get. more

Abdolutely delicious! 5/17/2011

I'm Gluten Intolerant and really didn't think I'd be able to enjoy a tradionally Italian restaurant the way I used to before finding out that all my favorite dishes were now off limits - forever. But because Caffe Carrera will whip up pretty much anything you want and they encourage substituations and creative changes to their menu - bliss for a problem diner like me - (they want you to be very pleased even if you're fussy), I went to town and had the most delicious Italian meal I've had ever since finding out I no longer could have most Italian dishes. I basically subsituted and removed/added until I very happily couldn't eat a thing more. My friend who was with me and doesn't have food allergies was face down in her mouthwatering pasta also, saying it was the best she had all year. Inconspicuous and small, this place packs a huge flavor punch. Not to be missed! more

big change in all the right ways 1/16/2011

Caffe Carrera used to be a great place to dine.... and it's back! The food was always a treat, but Armondo, the pseudo manager/owner, became unbearable and my wife and I stopped going. This is the same fairly small place with fantastic food but now under the ownership, a welcome change that the place was so in need of. Antonio has brought the prices back down to reality and added some of his own special dishes while keeping the best of what used to be. The cooks are all the same and the quality is even better! There are more and better wines available as well. Multo Buono! more

You'll walk out feeling full but not feeling better. 12/26/2008

Caffe Carrerra is just what one hopes for in a little neighborhood restaurant but what you don't get. The owner is always surly and unaccommodating. He makes a point to invite special food requests but will pan you for them. If you are a party of two, you are penalized by being put at a tiny table across from the kitchen in the only narrow, single-file walkway between the front door and back bathroom. The owner makes clear that he regards a party of two to be a low-profit, nuisance factor and won't even take reservations for two. He will monitor your conversation and interject when he wants; and not in a pleasant way. With that in mind, having not been there in years, we opted for a take-out meal hoping to avoid all that. But, it was surprisingly very poorly packaged. Soup was put in a Styrofoam soda container, like a take-out Diet Coke at McDonald's, that leaked over everything. And, true to form, the owner wasn't partial to holding down the garlic on one dish and he sure let us know as we placed the take-out order over the phone. more

Extremely rude manager! 12/24/2007

I had been to this place twice before, once to pick up a sandwich and the other time for lunch with co-workers. I won't even go into how slooow the service was and the rude response we got from the manager, I'll just skip to the evening a friend and myself wanted to eat a little something before heading home. Pros: Decent Meatball sandwich Cons: RUDE manager and food overpriced for what it is. more

Worst Service in Beverly Hills 8/23/2007

Worried about the waiter spitting into your food? With a simple question regarding the menu, dining at Cafe Carerra will turn into the most unpleasent experience ever. The waiter, an arrogant man who unkindly corrected the guest when they incorrectly ordered a plates of oily salad and dry tasteless chicken and used sarcasm to verbally abuse his guest. The sarcastic verbal abuse would not have been so bad if the waiter, I believe to be the most uncooth unpleasent argentinian had it not been coupled with a lack of personal hygiene and dripping brillantine from his forehead. During the entire meal each time he came to the table he would say something abuse in a sarcastic passive aggressive way or just plain agressive. The impression that my food would have remains of his bodily fluids was overwhelming. No one wants to eat under those conditions. I waiter should never make you even have a sneaking susspicion of that. Wouldn't you agree? Pros: There are none Cons: Substandard service, below average fare more

Great for Romantic Dining. Incredible food, wine, champagne, tiramisu, and service. 6/26/2007

Delightful food, wine, ambience, personal service by the owner who will cater to you like you are family. Romantic. Quiet place for that celebrity that is looking for a moment away. The food, wine, and champagne is heavenly. The best tiramisu in all of the country. NYC included. more

Amazing authentic Scicilian dining 3/18/2007

This is the best Italian restaurant in town, specializing in Scicilian food. The atmosphere is cozy and familiar, the staff is entertaining and remember you each time you visit, and the food is out of this world. They also cater and I've had lunch delivered numerous times for my staff. Caffe Carrera is always my first choice when choosing a night out! Pros: food, service, and wine list Cons: cross your fingers for meter parking right in front more

Amazing food, so fresh! 2/19/2007

I have never tasted such delicious pasta before! It's homemade and prepared to your liking. The service is wonderful too! It is an extremely small restaurant (maybe 10 tables) so the owner does it all and he seems to really care, he makes you feel like you're a guest at his house. Worth every penny! Pros: FOOD, Service more

10 tables but 100% great service/ food ! 11/17/2006

My girlfriend and I were looking for something nice and quick nearby the Wilshire Theatre/ Beverly hills to eat. We started walking and ended up at Caffe Carrera. Quickly we were seated by host/ owner . He ensured amazing Service we had our food in less then 10minutes and it was amazing, from the authentically Italian Bread ( Italian country style) to the caper sauce on my Tilapia fish entree (the owner comically added, that White Fish did'nt swim 'in' that day!) But really , I dont usually leave reviews for restaurants. This place was great, Intimate, Amazing service. Price wise they were about typical for high end italian, I'd say about 20-25/ person for dinner (Sans Vino- Without Wine ) I'd say a 10 spot for a date, or dinner before a concert at the wilshire theatre, I'll be back for the Fish really soon! ( I literally thought i was in Italy for about 45 minutes ) That is my 2cent -review :) Pros: Amazing Food, Service, Ambience, Intimate, Cozy Cons: A little pricey, but WORTH it! more

Pros: parking. FOOD!, staff, wine more

The Most Amazing Hole in the Wall Ever 1/21/2003

Caffe Carrera is fantastic! Armondo, the owner is the most fun and friendly Siscilian I've ever met. The pesto pasta with chicken is fantastic, and the fresh bread with garlic/basil dipping oil is amazing. They serve great panini as well. This has become our favorite restaurant for a leisurely, inexpensive, intimate night out. This place is the best! more
