Traveled the world. If you don't have a wonderful romantic time it's you not :) more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 5/6/2009

My wife and I have repeatedly returne to Cafe Vico for anniversaries, valentines day, etc., for the food, service, and ambience (in that order). Food has always been spot on and service responsive. The place is very popular so I would suggest reservations on a weekend night, and well in advance of Valentine's day if you plan of going there. Prices are more than reasonable, even for the specials. I agree with past reviewer that desserts should be expanded, but don't let that keep you away. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 4/13/2009

This place was recommended by a friend.\r The Fried calamari was so-so.\r The entrees - especially the homemade pastas were excellent.\r The desserts were a big disappointment. How can you get a bad Tiramisu or Profiteroles in a decent Italian restaurant? more

Cafe Vico 8/17/2008

Florida weather in September/October may be like living in a steam bath, but there's an upside: No reservations needed at good restaurants & less noise within. It's not a bad trade-off.\r \r Whenever we visit, we try to include Cafe Vico in our dining plans. It's consistently good, you receive a warm welcome from its owner, & the service is excellent. I love the ambiance: three inviting, smallish, rooms, cozy, dark-stained wood bar & accents, earthy yellow walls, raised blue ceilings that appear to be filled with night-lit clouds, "antique" accessories such as musical instruments, film paraphernalia, framed pictures of celebraties of a bygone era. Cafe Vico is like an inviting hearth. \r \r With the complimentary bruschetta, my husband & I both ordered house salads, romaine lettuce, olives, excellent tomatoes, shredded carrots, served with a marvelous tomato vinaigrette. It looked as if the tomatoes in it had been coarsely pureed.\r \r As much as I enjoy perusing the extensive menu at Cafe more

Great Atmosphere, Delicious Food 2/25/2008

I have come back to Cafe Vico time and time again, and it has consistantly been good. I especially recommend the fish dishes, paired with a white wine. During the day, it's perfect for a business lunch, and at night you can go for a romantic dinner. The Tiramisu is the best (and I've had a lot of Tiramisu). Pros: food, service, ambience, Tiramisu Cons: can be hard to find if you don't know where it is more

I LOVE CAFE VICO!! 2/7/2008

If i had to guess how many ""Authentic"" Italian restaurants I've tried around here it would be well over 2 dozen.....and for the money, none of them are even in the same ballpark as Cafe Vico. We go for business lunches to romantic dinners. The owners are fantastic people and will gladly have a glass of wine with you after closing!! Order anything from veal saltimbocca to the osso buco, you cannot go wrong. As weird as it sounds, their lasagna is leaps-and-bounds better than all the others that I've tried....sorry Mom. If nothing else, try it for lunch to save some money -- you will not regret it! more

One of the Best Italian Restaurants 4/20/2007

A wonderful, charming restaurant where you are greeted in a warm, friendly manner. The fish dishes are always excellent - particularly the Chilean sea bass. The veal dishes are also excellent. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and give you impeccable service. As an Italian I find their dishes to be authentic. Pros: Great service, authentic food Cons: Pricey wines more

Cafe Vico 4/17/2007

This little restaurant is fabulous. Very good food, excellent service and the restaurant is lovely. Its perfect for an intimate dinner date or dinner with friends. I've even spent New Year's Eve here and it was wonderful. All this right in my back yard. Pros: Great service, great food Cons: gets a bit noisy when its busy and its always busy more

Valentine's Dinner! Perfect! 2/15/2007

I flew in from NY, it was our first Valentine's Day together and I researched this place from NY...\r The setting was lovely, dimly lit, romantic in all aspect, good choice in wines\r We both tried the same thing, something new to both of us; the Linguine alle Vongole Bianco was simply ***""enjoyable"" (***Will be edited later since ""enjoyable"" is an understatement)\r We ended this lovely dinner with a Tiramisu & a Chocolate Mousse Cake both heavenly. Pros: Everything was Perfect! Cons: None! more

Real Italian food! 1/13/2007

Awesome REAL Italian food! Great Service! Romantic enviroment! We loved it and definitely recommend it to anyone whose looking for real italian food! Pros: Very relax scene Cons: Tables are set close to one another. more

Great Food but Tables Too Close Together 6/3/2006

Food and service were both top notch. My gnocci were light and the cheese sauce was rich and excellent. The antipasti for two could easily have feed more. My dinner partner's lasagna was not to his liking but was beautifully presented. His complaint was too much meat and not enough sauce. The espresso was the best in town. The ricotta cheesecake was tasty but a little dry. We will definetly go back and soon. We never got our Sambuca. Pros: atmosphere, excellent menu, quick service Cons: tables too close, crowded, waiter hard to unders more

Definitely worth the trip~! 4/27/2006

What I liked most was the food and ambience! I totally recommend this hidden gem for cozy dinners or fun group dinners. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially since the restaurant was located in a strip mall and it's very easy to miss. Once you walk in, it's like you've stepped into a cafe in Italy. Two thumbs up! Pros: Ambience, Food, Good parking Cons: Hidden location more

EXCELLENT 2/18/2006

Truly authentic Italian food, owned by Italians. This restaurant truly lives up to all the positive feedback it has received. The place is small and quaint and non pretentious. Great place for a date. I brought my wife here on Valentines day, and despite the place being packed, food nor service was sacrificed. They also gave all the women a rose at the end of your diner, which I though was a nice gesture. Try the carpaccio!! Try this place, as you will not be disappointed. Pros: FOOD, Ambiance, SERVICE more

New Years Eve 1/13/2006

My wife and used previous comments in this forum to try this restaurant recently on New Year's eve 2005 and it lived up to its reputation. The service, food, and ambience were excellent. We could not have gone to a better establishment for our holiday in Florida. We come from an area where Italian food is common and very well prepared. Cafe Vico was outstanding. We spoke to some local regulars at the next table for tips on some of their better dishes and their opinion was to try anything on the menu, and we now agree. Pros: food, ambience, service more

A Wonderful Night Out 9/17/2005

If you love Italian food, this is the place to go. The room is sufficiently lit to read the menu but the lighting is soft. The food is exquisite. The stuffed veal chop and osso buco was incredible as was the hot appetizer. The veal chop oozed with cheese and the proscuitto was wonderful. The mussels and clams on the hot appetizer were good but the grilled calamari was right from Sicily. The roasted eggplant in a balsamic vinagarette on the platter was to die for. Save room for tiramisu Pros: ambiance, incredible food more

Expensive Risotto 7/1/2005

All the food is greta but watch out for specials...they are expensive,. We paid $27 for a risotto ! vegetarian. WOW.! more
