If you’ve ever played a show at Van Kleef’s with more than 3 people in your group, you know what an ordeal it is maneuvering on that narrow little stage high up over the audience. For those sitting on the viewing end of things though, it’s a really funky place to see music, perhaps THE place in Oakland these days to see eclectic bands of the sort that play the Mission. Which makes the scene there really cool because all the Oakland kids go there by default on the nights they don't feel like trekking over the bridge.
Too bad some assholes are trying to shut the club down right now. So much for beautifying Oakland…
