Incredible! Favorite nightclub in Gaslamp! 10/27/2011

This place is just incredible. I went a few times back over the past few years, but recently have been loving it that much more, so its turned into a weekly hangout. Great vibe. Great DJs & music. Great drinks. Bottle service is on point. Friendly bartenders. Im not usually into the top 40s, but theyve grown on me with the DJ twisting them a bit, and so me & my friends love it. I'm not a Tapas person... I'm also a vegetarian. This is not a good place for this mix... The portions were extremely small with extremely high prices. What I ate was ok... nothing special. I wouldn't go back there again. more

This is a fantastic place if you want to liven up your night. Awesome Sangria, live flamenco music & tasty tapas. It gets quite loud for conversation, but if you're wanting to dance JUST do IT. more

Great atmosphere- good food 7/8/2010

My family and I were vacationing in San Diego for a couple fo days. We stayed close to downtown so I was reccommended to go to Cafe Sevilla. We did not get the chance to go downstairs to the club, but we ate at the bar, since the place was crowded and the waiting for a table was like two hours(Friday night) . The service was great, the food was pretty good, loved it. The only thing that kept my attention, was the fact that the waiter asked us if we wanted our Paella Valenciana a little bit spicy( we are from texas, so of course, we said yes!) When the bill arrived we noticed they charged us an extra of $3.50 for ""Spicier paella""!!! Never imagined they were going to charge for something like that, nor it said it on the menu.... Cons: Waiting time, Charge $3.50 for a spicier paella??? more

My favorite Restaurant 3/22/2010

I love going there and try different kinds of sangrias. My favorite is the Sangarita (half sangria, half margarita.) It has a tiny sourness to it, I love it! We like to enjoy the live music while we dine, so it's the perfect place for me and my friends. \r We always like to get a variety of different tapas to share. One of my favorites is the Brocheta Mar y Tierra \r (grilled Kabob, shrimp, beef and lamb). Oh my GOD! So good! Cooked perfectly and very well marinated! They also have a Ceviche that is one of the best I've had! \r \r We always have a good time when we go there! Awesome enviroment, service and food! \r more

Unique Experience!!!!! 2/24/2010

I went to cafe sevilla for my birthday and it was great. The waitress was on top of everything. At the begining I had no idea what to order. But the waitress was very helpful and was able to fully explain the menu to us. All the recommendations were awesome. I particully liked the tuna tartare tower, lamb brocheta, manchego cheese mash potatoes and off course the Paella Valenciana. The restaurant was romantic in its own way. I have recommended this restaurant to my co-workers and family members. There is not one bad thing to say about my experience at Cafe Sevilla. The waitress came out with a flourless chocolate cake with a sparkling candle on top. I will certainly be going back to Sevilla very soon.\r more

Best Tapas in town 1/14/2010

Gorgeous, romantic decor. Excellent service and very tasty food. I highly recommend the paella, stuffed dates, tuna tartare, pulpo gallega, and lamb skewers. The brocheta presentation is unique.\r \r The free rewards program is a great deal ... a point for every dollar spent. Once you hit 100 points, you get $15 loaded on your card. $15 paellas on Mondays and $10 Brochetas on Sundays!! I can't wait to take advantage of that!\r more

Where else can you eat great food upstairs and then go downstairs to be transformed into another world with live music? All I have to say is tapas in the bar upstairs (get the dates) with live music late night, and salsa dancing with live music downstairs. Amazing time to be had, feel like you are in Europe! Great tapas restaurant with delicous food and fantastic atmosphere. 2/18/2009

Sevilla was the perfect evening for my husband and I. The portions were perfect and allowed us to try many things on the menu. The prices were very reasonable. The service was excellent. Everything about the atmosphere was enjoyable: music, decor, very romantic. Most of all the food was AMAZING. Very flavorful and unique. Even simple items such as the fresh bread and dipping sauces was to die for. Great location in Gaslamp, close to many other bars too. You have to try this restaurant. Pros: Service, food quality, ambience Cons: Make reservations...it gets busy! more

Great cocktails, good food, horrible service and management 10/14/2008

I have been to Cafe Sevilla several times and for the most part really enjoyed it...until this past time. I used to work in a restarant and understand that the server's job is to upsell but our server took it much further. We ordered a round of mojitos and asked for the regular rum. Throughout the evening he pushed other upgrades to us but we passed. When the bill came, there was nearly $40 in upgraded rum fees. When we brought it up to the server, he said that he ordered us the top shelf and we asked to speak with the manager. The manager said he would take care of it and then when the bill came back, it was more expensive!!! Then he disappeared and we couldn't get a hold of him again. It was the most ridiculous experience ever. It took 45 minutes of back and forth to clear up the mess. The tapas are great and so are the cocktails but the constant push to upsell and poor taste of the server to charge us for stuff that wasn't ordered ruined my experience at Cafe Sevilla. Awesome tapas, intoxicating sangria 7/3/2008

San Diego in May allowed me to sample some of this wonderful restaurant's sangria and paella. The atmosphere is electric, everyone having a great time, and you can see why. The food is great, paella was amazing; almost as good as being back in Spain. Sangria was good enough to make the night a bit blurry after dinner. Do try this place, it is worth it! more

What a wonderful dining experience we had. The food was excellent and served promptly while still hot. The service staff was very attentive and responsive to every request.The flamenco show is definitely one you don't want to miss. The Sangria is out of this world.
