Excellent Indian Cuisine in a real up and coming area (Brist 5/24/2009

I moved to Bristol Borough only fairly recently and was very pleasantly surprised to find that it is a real hotbed of great restaurants. Kind of like an early stage New Hope. It's a very exciting time to be here. \r \r We've now been to Cafe Bombay twice in just the last week. The food is EXCELLENT. I've been just about everywhere in NYC and Edison, NJ. The preparations at Cafe Bombay are easily better than most, without question. Their ingredients are very fresh - the flavors are positively wonderful, and their chef is definitely accomplished. The use of ingredients and spices are well-balanced. The Chicken Saag is the BEST that we have EVER had. \r \r Trust me - this is some of the very best Indian food available, not just in this area but anywhere in the entire Philly / NYC metro area. \r \r The service is very polite and reserved - it's a family restaurant. The decor could use a bit more of a touch in my opinion but that's ok - it's a bit cheesy for my taste but \r \r Here is what we have had so far: \r \r Rogan Josh. Pieces of lamb marinated in yogurt with herbs. Spiced then cooked in its own gravy. A north Indian favorite We ordered this as a 7 (out of 10) in range of spice / heat. Next time we'll do 8 as we like our food spicy. This was excellent. \r \r Lamb Kadai. Kadai cooking is native to Sind which was formerly a part of Bombay. Pieces of meats or vegetable are quickly cooked in a Kadai (wok) with a small amount of spiced oil, onion, tomatoes, garlic, and other subtle flavors \r \r Most dishes may be spiced from 1-10. Kadai is spicy by nature so the scale on this is 5-10. We had 8 and were suitably impressed to find a spicy dish that had FLAVOR in equal doses to HEAT. 8 with this dish is definitely spicy but not overwhelmingly so - not if you like spicy food. \r \r Chicken Curry (Strong Flavor). Cooked in the traditional curry sauce (onion tomato). We had this as a 7 - WONDERFUL. Next time we'll do 8 but really this is a great dish. \r \r Chicken Saag (Light Flavor). Chicken cooked with fresh spinach, onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and spices. We had this as a 5, so as to not overwhelm the delicate flavors with too much heat. This was THE BEST Chicken Saag EVER. No exaggeration. The very humble staff bowed his thanks and said that his brother always uses fresh spinach. \r \r NAAN. A staple bread - very good. \r Pros: chiken curry is very good Cons: too busy, fri & sat more
