Unique dining 8/19/2008

My husband and I love 1217. The menu is consistent, for his favourite sandwiches and salads, yet the owners change it up often enough to keep it interesting! The food is always well prepared and beautifully presented. While the restaurant can get crowded during peak times, the service is always pleasant and efficient, and the prices reasonable for what you're getting. The restaurant, from the window boxes outside to the corners of the bathroom inside, is always immaculately clean, which is a BIG plus in my book! Definitely a place to go for a girlfriend lunch!! Pros: Great Food, Immaculately Clean, Healthy Choices Available!! Cons: Crowded during peak times, parking lot sometimes difficult to negotiate more

This cafe has an exotic variety of vegetarian and meat filled foods. They are a little pricey, but well worth it. There food is fresh and there is always something new to choose from. more

Great for Brunch or Lunch 6/9/2005

Hungry and looking for a fresh more healthy meal? This cafe has delicious variety of fresh salads that are absolutely enormous. Or if you prefer, you can try their sandwiches or very unique entres. They also have a variety of delicious deserts. There menu choices are colorful and you can expect to try something new everytime you visit. The dining room is clean and decorated very quaint, however if you are looking to be waited on, this is not the place to visit. PROS: Their food is always served hot and fresh/meals are affordable CONS: Would be easier to pay up front b/c there are no servers more

Stick to the menu board for lunch. Otherwise the cost is quite expensive ($12 a pound for green beans?). The salads are fresh and plentiful. The sandwiches are good also. Most desserts are fine, but be careful of the cheesecakes, sometimes they are quite dry. The interior is pleasant. There is no service to speak of. You order, they take your name and then call it out. For the price I do expect more. When I or friends have ordered from the case our meals regularly run $10 - $14!   • Operating since 1997, Cafe 1217 offers catering services in Hot Springs and the surrounding areas. Based in Hot Springs, Ariz., it is a family restaurant offering a broad menu inclusive of food and beverages. It specializes in handling fully catered events, such as weddings, meetings, corporate events as well as personal entertaining programs. Cafe 1217 further provides event planning services, including birthdays, black-tie events, boardroom brunches, client presentations and retreats, among others. It was the recipient of the Sentinel Record 2008 Reader's Choice 1st place award for Best Lunch.
