I went to the NYC Boutique and everyone was very nice and helpful until it came time for alterations. Less than a month before my wedding my dress was destroyed... holes, pulls, ruined seams, uneven tool, I can go on and on. But instead of being reasonable and admitting fault, the manager of the store treated us as if we were garbage telling us we were seeing things. Just a terrible experience altogether. Never in my life was I treated so poorly as a customer. Never again, stay away from this store and especially the alterations department. more

Cymbeline is a dream! This shop is the calm, slow-paced, pressure-free opposite of any image you may have of wedding dress shopping! I am honestly not sure why brides-to-be aren't booking their calendar solid. I had been to six appointments before Cymbeline, some good, some so-so, and yet even the good ones had slight sales pressure and urges to order the dress as soon as possible. I called up Cymbeline because I was feeling pressure (from the other shops!) to find something soon and I knew I hadn't found my dress yet. Unsure if they would have anything in my price range, they not only assured me that they did, but they invited me to stop in whenever was convenient for me. That came as a shock, since I had been on the wait list for one shop in the West Village for over a month! As soon as I got to the shop I noticed that the energy there was really nice, and Renee was the salesperson who helped me. She understood right away the type of dress that would make sense for where our wedding will take place (outdoors in the fall), as well as what I had tried on previously and what I was open to. I liked every single dress I tried on - they are classic, beautifully detailed, romantic and elegant - and not trendy. And the one I found was one-of-a-kind and perfect for the fall. So if you want a timeless, elegant, beautiful dress with salespeople who truly listen to you and help you without the pressure, this is your place! PS - if you are reading this close to the date I'm writing, you may be able to find a great bargain - they were having a sample sale when I stopped in, and the dresses on sale were not used or worn at all - amazing! more

Simply put, Cymbeline is extraordinary. The gowns, the accessories, the service, and the boutique amount to a treasured find for even the most discriminating bride. If you want something truly unique that rests at the height of current fashion, then Cymbeline is for you. Having spent many months researching on-line what kind of bridal dress I wanted, I finally narrowed my choices to Cymbeline and Priscilla of Boston. A last-minute schedule change prompted me to contact Cymbeline on Thursday to see if I could set an appointment for Saturday. Within minutes, the staff was responding to my e-mail and making the necessary arrangements. When I said that my price limit was $2,000, they assured me that they would easily find my perfect dress within my range. I was doubtful, as the photographs I saw on their website suggested much higher pricing. On the day of my appointment, my grandmother, mother, and I arrived half-an-hour late due to traffic we encountered coming in from Connecticut. As we approached the designated place, all we found was a tiny placard indicating that Cymbeline was upstairs on the second floor. We could not have guessed from the non-descript entrance what awaited us there. Surely, Cymbeline has positioned itself quietly in its gorgeous studio because only brides who know what they want will know to look there for it. Ivy, the manager, welcomed us profusely, not at all put off by our tardiness. She was lovely in every sense. She listened attentively to what I wanted, yet she also offered some different styles so I could experience a range of gowns. The fourth dress I tried on was ""Dicchi,"" and it was the most spectacular dress I have ever had the privilege of putting on. The decision was a quick one, expedited by Ivy's studied eye that picked out the perfect veil and accessories. Amy, the wonderful seamstress on hand, quickly set about pinning the dress to achieve what will ultimately be the final effect. As much as we all loved the dress, Ivy was careful not to make me feel pressured, knowing as she did that I had other appointments scheduled. It did not take long, however, for us to agree: there was no other dress for me besides Dicchi, and no other designer besides Cymbeline. I seriously urge all of my fellow brides to make an appointment with Ivy. The workmanship and styling of these dresses, combined with surprisingly affordable prices and superb service, makes Cymbeline what it is: a true Parisian boutique that is a hidden gem in New York. Ivy made the experience at Cymbeline great! She isn't pressuring or in your face. She's honest and kind. Although she can be a little scattered, she' takes the pressure feeling away and you feel truly special. The dress selections are to die for. Silk, Lace, Taffeta, Ribbons, Couture... Who wouldn't want a gown from here? I was lucky enough to meet the designer who got right into making the dress work for me. She was a French woman who spoke no English yet we understood eachother well enough. She was very opinionated when it mattered and helped me feel confident in the style i chose. the wedding isn't until 5/14/11... i bought the dress right then and there and skipped out of my Kleindfelds appt later that afternoon. I am not one of those girls who has been dreaming of her wedding dress all her life. In actuality it seemed pretty daunting and scary to go out and look for that ""perfect dress"". Well luckily I fell into fantastic hands, Renee and Ivy were all I could have asked for. And of course, I found my dream dress... Thanks ladies! Can't wait to come back for another visit. I recently went wedding dress shopping with a childhood friend in the New York Showroom. It turned out to be a fantastic experience with an incredible consultant. Ivy helped us, and after listening to the type of wedding and what my friend was interested in, she immediately started pulling dresses that perfectly fit the price point and the profile. She knew her stuff and called ""The Dress"" before my friend had even tried it on. And boy was she right, the dress was STUNNING. All of the dresses at Cymbeline are impressive, and each fits to the unique bride. And for a girl who watches a lot of ""Say Yes to the Dress"", I know what I'm talking about when I say that these are WOW dresses at reasonable prices. I can't talk more highly of Ivy; she wasn't pushy, got to know us very well and laughed throughout the appointment, keeping it light and fun. ONE-STOP wedding shop OUTSTANDING CONSULTANTS who LISTEN and show you the most FABULOUS, UNIQUE gowns at VERY REASONABLE prices! I went in and found the perfect wedding dress in a matter of minutes, and was so happy with the experience that I purchased my rehearsal dinner dress, veil, and accessories there as well. I just bought my dress at Cymbeline's nyc showroom this past weekend. Renee helped me, and she was fantastic! She was easy to work with, patient, and at 9 am, very chipper. She never made me feel like I had to buy a dress, she would offer her opinion, gently, when I asked. She is the type of person you want to buy your dress from. Just lovely! I loved every dress I tried on, even though only one was really me! The fabrics, and designs are all couture and make you feel like a TRUE bride! I feel like I went everywhere else, I tried on at least 100 dresses, and in all ways my experience with Renee at Cymbeline was phenomenal, highly recommended! Cymbeline is a hidden gem off of 5th Ave and Mona Atwa is the secret. I looked through about 500 pages of magazines trying to find the perfect wedding dress. One caught my eye and when i showed my fiance, he couldn't stop thinking about it. We were in love with the ""cecelia"" dress from Cymbeline. I made appointments for about 3 places. Most places talked to me like I was just another customer, and a crazy one at that, looking for a same day appointment. Mona was available immediately because someone had cancelled. She told me over the phone that the dress we were in love with was available and luckily a sample was at the store in my size. I was in the store in 15 minutes and Mona pulled out a couple of gowns based on my magazine clippings. Walking into the store, I was mesmerized. All the gowns were beautifully displayed in the lighted closet and the immaculate hardwood floors kept the gowns clean and new. I felt like this is the way I want to shop for my wedding dress. Mona always greets you with a glass of champagne and the experience is very unique. It's like having a friend hold your hand through the whole process. She makes herself available and works with your schedule as much as possible. and the guy who does alterations apparently has worked with J.Lo! I got the dress of my dreams, and everyone was asking where I got it. more

Cymbeline was the first stop I made on my bridal dress expedition. I happened upon the brand by looking at bridal magazines, and finding one advertisement with a dress that seemed like me. When I got to Cymbeline (with my mother in tow), Mona Atwa made the my first experience of trying on bridal gowns a BLAST (my mom and I haven't gotten along so well in YEARS). With a skillful eye, backed by years of experience in the bridal industry, Mona pulled a number of dresses she thought I should try, in addition to the one I came to the shop to see. While the dress I liked in the magazine was beautiful, it was similar in style to what I would normally wear to a formal occasion (albeit in off white). But EVERYTHING that Mona pulled was fantastic. Whereas I couldn't see what might work best, Mona did, and kindly shared her expertise. I wasn't rushed, and Mona actually pinned each dress on me so I could see how it would actually fit (unlike all other bridal salons I've been to where they clip ill-fitting dresses on you and try and make it work). I had been shopping for a wedding dress for about four months when I came upon Cymbeline. I am not your traditional bride, so I was really having a hard time finding a dress. I could envision in my head what I wanted, but hadn't come across it yet. All of the bridal gowns started looking the same. Finally, I walked into Cymbeline for my appointment and immediately I knew it felt different. I was greeted my the manager, Mona, who couldn't have made my best friend and I feel more comfortable. She was so warm and inviting. Alot of showrooms are stuffy, and you feel like you are not allowed to touch the dresses. Cymbeline is the total opposite of that. My friend and I browsed through the amazingly gorgeous and unique collection while Mono poured us a glass of wine. We were the only clients in the showroom, so you really felt at ease and not rushed at all. I told Mona what I was looking for and my budget, and she brought out a sample sale dress from the back room that she thought sounded very close to what I was describing. Well.... all I can say is she had absolutely nailed it! I put it on, and felt that feeling that I had been waiting to feel for four months!!! I had found my dress!!!!! She then began to accessorize with ear rings and a choker necklace... which made me feel even more beautiful. All three of us celebrated as Mona took pictures capturing the moment. Finding 'THE' dress was more blissful than I had ever imagined. I was elated for weeks afterwards... thanks to Mona and Cymbeline!!! more

OK, so I had absolutely no idea what kind of dress I wanted for my wedding...I always pictured my wedding day but never pictured what my dress would look like...I must have tried on 40 dresses from 5 or 6 different shops until I found...MONA ATWA! She was a God-sent! From the moment I walked into the shop, I knew I had found my dress...I just didn't know which one yet. Not only are the dresses the most extraordinary and beautiful (truly!) I have ever seen, Mona Atwa, the manager of the showroom will make you feel like you are the only customer she has! She truly treats you like family...as if she is your maid of honor helping you to find a dress. I never thought shopping for a wedding dress could be this wonderful and I have not stopped raving to people about my experience! In fact, I joke (kinda!) that it was fate that I found Mona and Cymbeline--it was meant to be for me! I highly recommend going to Cymbeline and don't waste your time going anywhere else! I just have to tell everyone about the most wonderful experience my daughter and I had shopping for wedding dresses. Mona greeted us warmly and spoke with my daughter at great length. After some time, they walked around the salon and picked out many dresses. Then they got to ?the dress?. Mona looked at my daughter and said, ?This is the dress for you?. In truth, I have never seen my daughter?s face shine as much as it did that day. The self-esteem that emanated from her was truly a sight to behold. . Mona has made our quest to find the perfect wedding dress a wonderfully delightful experience. She is in charge of every fitting and has taken a sincere personal interest in my daughter?s well-being. I don't want to sound redundant but I had been looking all over New York for a wedding gown, went through 18 appointments and finally got desperate and resigned myself to getting a gown I kind-of-liked at another bridal salon. There was always something wrong or missing in all my appointments. Luckily, I found Cymbeline last minute who had opened a showroom just a couple of months ago. I decided to go check it out and found an extraordinary experience of personalized, attentive to detail, and unique service. This is Mona, not a salesperson, a designer and stylist herself. She was able to read me, understand exactly what I was looking for and how I wanted to look like on the most important day of my life. She envisions my look and that was nice to get a not-so standard set of questions as in other bridal salons, but an artist who is trying to figure me out as a person and making my perfect gown come into reality! How? Mona grabbed fabrics, pinned, put on accessories, and spent as much time as needed to show me she knew what I wanted. And she did. I came back 1 hour after (from another appointment) and she was still there, we did it again (I should mention she is incredibly patient!) and there, I got the famous feeling that I read about ""Oh, that's it, that's the dress!"". After 5 months of appointments at high end wedding boutiques and department stores in NYC, I felt as if I was seeing the same dresses over and over, and was surprised at the lack of personal attention and assistance at some very high end stores. After visiting MANY bridal salons and not finding a dress that truly fit my vision, I called to see if there were any last-minute appointments at Cymbeline while my mother was in town helping me find my wedding dress. We walked in to a beautiful, spotless showroom. Mona, the consultant about whom everyone else had raved (deservedly!), greeted us warmly. Designs are classic but up-to-date and deceptively simple, since the dresses are all made of the most beautiful French lace. They are light (not laden down with tule) and you will find dozens of alternatives to the ubiquitous strapless dress! I could have been happy in any number of the gowns I tried on, but I found one that was so perfect I never dreamed it existed. Mona really guided me to *the one*. She had a wonderful understanding of what would flatter me and also a sort of intuition about what I wanted for this most special day. I cannot offer enough glowing remarks about her and the whole experience. It really felt like I left Cymbeline with a new friend, and I have the utmost confidence that she will direct the alterations to make sure that the dress fits me just right. Over the past couple of weeks since we bought the dress, she has been quick to respond to any questions I have, and sent me pictures of the gown so that I can show my grandma. She is just a gem, and Cymbeline is a welcome breath of fresh air for the bridal industry of this country. more

I tried on several gowns before visiting the Cymbeline showroom and hadn't found anything that I loved. I fell in love with a Cymbeline dress that I saw in a magazine and while it was not ""the one,"" the second one that Mona suggested was absolutely perfect. I actually felt as if I had worn it before (I never thought this really happened). Mona was amazing and also took great pictures that I was able to share with my Mom and mother-in-law to-be. After only a few minutes Mona knew exactly what I was looking for. She even took a piece of material and created ""flowers"" for my hair so that I could get an idea of what the entire look might be. I have been extremely happy with my experience so far and can't wait for my first fitting next year. I looked for a wedding gown for quite some time and had no luck finding one that I loved. I came across an ad for Cymbeline in a bridal magazine and looked up the website. On their site I found they had several gowns I liked. I also found out that they had just opened a New York location recently and made an appointment to see them. My experience was just great. I met with Mona who showed me some beautiful gowns and together we found my wedding gown. It was everything I wanted in a wedding dress at a price that made me comfortable. She helped me take pictures so that I can show my mom who lives in CA being that she couldnt come with me to buy a dress. Everything seemed so easy and worry free. The space was relaxing and catered to one bride at a time, which made me feel special. I would recommend Cymbeline for their great selection of gowns and their reasonable prices. Go there its great!
