The wait to be seated was over an hour. We waited at a table by the bar. And drank way over priced drinks. We were told we were able to order appitizers. So we just stuck to those...

Ok food, horrible service 10/4/2009

A few friend and I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner. The food was ok, but the reason I'll never go to this restaurant again was the server. She was consistently rude, and frankly I (and everyone else at the table) didn't understand why she didn't want to serve me -- even up to the time we left, I was polite and frankly wasn't asking for much. One of the guys ordered a bottle of wine to share -- she wouldn't bring me a glass until I asked a second time. She wouldn't take my order until after she had brought things for the others, then she forgot my drink (I had to ask for it twice), and then wouldn't bring me my salad. She brought everyone's dinner entree out at the same time but mine, and then almost didn't give me the dessert that came with my meal. Considering the proximity to Alhambra, I have to assume she's not racist, but suffice to say that I cannot believe that this restaurant is employing someone like this. Learn moderation... 11/26/2007

The first time I visited a Claim Jumper, my sister knowingly let me order an appetizer...a salad...AND an entree...this was AFTER I had already ordered a large Red Tail Ale. Needless to say...I've learned the concept of moderation at this restaurant. Even though their menu has changed over the years, they still tend to serve portions on the large side. I've had mixed experiences here at the Northridge location. Recently had lunch here with my mother and our server was friendly, kept the water coming (it was a hot day), and paid attention to the course of our meal. A huge contrast to the previous experience where my husband and I were largely ignored by our waiter...forced to request water...a leftover box...and ultimately the table check. I suppose I'll have to go back and give it another try. more

Great Food but horrible Bar tenders! 10/26/2006

I love food here and they have a great happy hour, but I have gone twice and both times the drinks were aweful. THis is isn't just coming from me, my Husband also agreed that the drinks were way too watered down and not in a good way. Pros: Great Food Cons: Horrible Drinks more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I wish there was one in L.A. The portions are huge and the prices are pretty moderate. The mozzerella sticks are great, the produce bar is always fresh and the dessers (especially the cream cheese pie) are to DIE for. Great place for families or hanging out with your friends. Pros: portions Cons: not in L.A more

But then when noticed at the bar three feet away a man eating a hamburger. We asked the waiter about it. Who told us you can order entrees at the bar. But because we wern't technicaly at the bar were not titled to them. We told the waiter we were going to smoke, but when we came back our only half eaten appitizers had been cleared by the bus boy. The did bring us new appitizers but by then my buzz had been killed and my wallet was empty. The only thing good about the night was the food. But it wasn't worth the hastle. Don't go to the Claim Jumper. Pros: Good food Cons: Over priced, Bad service, Weird ordering rules more

Too busy, too expensive... 11/13/2004

Long wait to eat. Long wait to order. Long wait for food. Distracted waitress. Food was OK, portions were humongous but I guess I expected more for a dinner for 3 @$90 (with 2 glasses of wine, no appetizer and no deserts). more

More for your mouth 8/8/2002

Of you are looking for big protions,fast service, and thee best prime rib then you should vist claim jumpers. Justing wirting this review is makeing me crave the prime rib. Of course there is no reservation it's a first come first serve type of deal. Once your seated make sure to order the chicken wings, there about the size of a drumstick. Everything in the resturant is big. Plus it doesn't hurt the wallet, well unless you order drinks. Pros: Big Protion, fast Service, Inexpensive Cons: Long Wait, Long wait, Long Wait more
