Clearlake used to be our vet of choice a few years ago. But then gruff, but highly competent, Dr. Holt decided he was too old and wanted to travel and be semi- or entirely-retired...

My Labrador Retriever is almost 5 now. When she turned 2, she began losing her hair and was lethargic.By the time she was 4, her tail was bald and she began to lose her hair on her hind quarters to the point her skin was showing. At that time I was taking her to another veterinary clinic. I was told that the hair loss was due to a condition sometimes caused by neutering and nothing could be done. I changed to Clearlake Animal Hospital early 2013. Dr. Paul spoke with me about running tests on her to determine whether a thyroid issue may be related to the hair loss and lack of energy. Dr. Paul's diagnosis was spot on. Within a week of the medication Dr. Paul prescribed, she had returned to her ""puppy"" state and within two months her hair had completely grown back on her tail and now her hair is very thick.\r Dr. Paul not only rid me of my anxiety over her condition, he restored her quality of life. In my opinion, Clearlake Animal Hospital provides the best care and has the best staff in town. My close friend and great source of enjoyment won't be going anywhere else.\r Thank you Dr. Paul, for locating here and running a top notch clinic. more

I have been with this animal hospital since we adopted our Tiger.He has been boarded there, had teeth cleaned and yearly exams. I have been very satisfied with the new Dr. Paul and his staff. They are very knowledgable and helpful.\r The facility was remolded and it is extremely clean. Will continue to bring Tiger in for his examinations. Keep up the good work. more

My dachshund has had issues with skin allergies for quite a while and the staff at Clearlake has been great at getting us in to see the doctors whenever we need it. And the doctors are careful and thorough in prescribing what is best for my little guy because of his size and medical issues. He still acts like a puppy even though he is 11 1/2 years old thanks to their help! more

I would like to update somethings on this Animal Hospital..I had dealings with both Drs below..Yes Dr. Holt was cheap but you get what you pay for...I have been to the NEW place and what a change...first very clean,the girls(and Dr) all were very nice to me and all my furbabies..They explain every to me from pulling Dixies teeth to Mistys kidney stones..One think I really like is I get a print out of everything done...which I never did before them....Yes...Please give them a chance to treat your animals...see the love they show...You won't be sorry.....They will be alittle higher than before...but I have paid higher...***** more

But then gruff, but highly competent, Dr. Holt decided he was too old and wanted to travel and be semi- or entirely-retired; what we got then was this skinny guy with a big mustache who would barely even approach, let alone examine, our "kids," but would instead stand a few feet back, and offer some stupid, "no, duh!" advice that my car mechanic could have given me. I'm not sure were these folks are going to but they must be mistaken, Clearlake Animal Hospital is where I take my pets and they recieve the best care I've seen, Wether is Dr. Holt or Dr. Dornbush, they tell it to you like it is and don't don't try and run up needless bills on people, I've gone in to see Dr. holt with little or no money and he still helped me so to all you out there This is one of Brevards Best, And why dont you see the cost of going to emergency around here, Wow more
