C D Danza Salon & Spa

Ring, ring... I was greeted warmly on the phone after the 2nd ring. I spoke with a guy that was very helpful in scheduling me for a foil and haircut.\r I shared with him...between my schedule and the stylist that were no longer there I didn't have anyone I was attached to, but that I wanted someone with experience.. You get what you pay for! He mentioned to me that he highly recommended their Level II and up. I shared that I had seen just about all the levels and I would like to try Cheryl's work. \r He said sure, excellent. He placed me on hold for about 1 minute as I heard the phones ringing.\r As I was holding I was excited to get my hair done, it had been a little too long:) In that moment I wondered how long it would take for me to see this infamous CD aka Cheryl Danza?\r As I've read about in a review here on Citysearch.\r The guy, (later to learn his name is Ken) returned to the phone and asked when I would like to come in? I said as soon as possible, preferably a weekend. He got me in, it did take a week for a Saturday appointment.\r It's Saturday, I'm home now and I am loving my hair! The remarkable skill and training Cheryl has is worth every penny.\r We chatted about my hair, what did I like and not like about it, how much time I want to spend on styling, and how she would show me how to care for it, but that she, ""sculpts"" as she designs each haircut for each person. I said , ""ok"" go for it! \r As she was creating the perfect color FOR ME, we chatted about who's wearing what in Hollywood..and MadMen on cable tv.\r I then asked her what she thought of the turnover that's been going on in her salon?\r She had nothing but positive things to say about her former protegee's (employee's). \r That people like to try things for themselves and experience what it's like to own their own business or work in a different atmosphere.. ""Look at some new walls.""\r I've taken the time to write this review because I like this beautiful salon in downtown Renton. I had been going to CD Danza for about a year- I put up with the CONSTANT booking errors because I loved my hairstylist. She was awesome, but I got that dreaded phone call saying she was no longer there and I assumed I would have to find a new place to get my hair done.\r \r \r But then, I got a call from Cheryl (the owner) and she told me she would be willing to do my hair at my stylist's prices- witch I thought was very nice so I decided to accept.\r \r \r BIG MISTAKE this was the WORST haircut of my life. I couldnt beleive she actually charges $95.00. For what?? It was very choppy- she didnt ask what I wanted- It took all of 30 mins- and she was late on top of that. I didnt even have a chance to say I didnt like it when she started insisting I purchace 200+ dollars in her products so I could ""achieve her look"" Needless to say I didnt buy them. I had passed by the salon numerous times, but finally booked my appointment after waiting entirely too long for a cut. I emailed the salon and asked about stylists who specialized in certain areas. I got a response the same day, which was nice. I called and was able to book an appointment within the week. I'm a curly girl (we rock) so I'm a little too particular about who cuts my hair. :) \r \r I arrived and checked in. I was offered a beverage (tea, water, etc) and received a glass (yes, an actual glass) of chilled water. I had only a few minutes to browse through their product selection before I was greeted by Sarah. She was friendly and took my coat to hang before we made our way to her station. She asked a few questions before getting started. She offered me a scalp massage, which instantly won me over! The massage oil was refreshing but not overpowering. Then we moved to the shampoo station. The Bumble + Bumble products she used smelled amazing! Then she started making the cuts. She wasn't overly talkative, which I like. When I queried her about products and techniques, she was very willing to share. We covered a range of topics from music to weekend plans and various things in between. When we finished, she escorted me to pick up the products I'd asked about. I picked up some products and we said our goodbyes. \r \r They have a ""point"" system where you earn points for each visit/purchase. You can then redeem the points for various things (products, treatments, etc) later. There's a very soothing atmosphere at the salon. Might be different evenings or weekends when there are more clients and stylists, but it was a great experience overall. \r \r I'll definitely be back to visit Sarah at CD Danza Salon. I have been going to this salon for about 2 years now and absolutely LOVE it! I am very picky about salons because I'm always afraid that my stylist won't know what they're doing but CD Danza Salon and Spa has been all-around wonderful! I go there regularly for haircuts and occasional brow waxes and nail manicures, all which have been top-of-the-line and always exactly what I ask for. The front desk staff is always very friendly, sociable, and attentive. Even though it can be a bit pricey, the attention to detail, quality products and customer service you receive at CD Danza set it apart from others!\r Know before you go: since this salon IS so wonderful, hair appointments fill up quickly. Be sure to call several weeks in advance to have the best pick of appointments. I have worked in a business relationship as well as being a customer with CD Danza and I will never go anywhere else.\r \r I had long hair (i am a man btw) and came to CD Danza for them to cut it all off. Ever since that first experience, I know that I cannot go anywhere else. \r \r Great people, quality products and service. I read a bad review on here as well that really stunned me. Everyone I know that goes in there, including the people I end up chatting with while I wait (which is usually very short) absolutely love the experience at CD Danza.\r \r I highly recommend this place. As stated, for the quality of service and the overall experience, I will never go anywhere else. The staff here is great and the salon is beautiful and very up to date. A spacious waiting area along with a huge area for the salon's signature product as well as other well know lines is there too. The only issue I had was that everytime my stylist's prices went up there was no notification until it came time to pay. Be aware to ask rates upfront if you are not someone who can spend $$ like water. more

I am new to the Seattle area, so when I wanted to get a pedicure and eyebrow wax I turned to Citysearch to find a salon. I was about 15 minutes early for my appointment because I wasn't sure what traffic would be like. When I went to check in, the ladies behind the counter were chatting and didn't acknowledge me for quite a while. Once checked in I waited 15 minutes PAST my appointment time before anyone acknowledged me again. The ladies behind the counter blamed the wait on the person doing my pedicure & wax, and the person doing my pedicure & wax blamed it on the ladies behind the counter. The lady who did my pedicure & wax ended up comping me a 2 oz tube of handcream for having to wait. The services themselves were not good either. One of my eyebrows now has a bald spot in it, and the polish job on my toes was worse than if I would have done it myself. Due to the poor hospitailty and service I will not be going back to this salon. Pros: ambience Cons: parking, service, quality more
