Dishonest with bad service 11/28/2008

Be careful of accepting any special anything here. I and my girlfriend went and were offered $2 wine, only to find that each glass was $10 on our bill. When we argued the bill, we were told that 2 glasses were required at $10 each. Nearly every waiter barely spoke English. The food is good, but this place lacks the most essential element of all.. honesty.. and the core staple of any restaurant.. service. Pros: The food is authentic Cons: Dishonest and terrible service.. The waiter will literally sit down to a meal while serving you.. more

Nice atmosphere, but food well below par 7/30/2008

I am originally from Dearborn, Michigan and had my choice of excellent Arabic restaurants since Dearborn has the second highest population of Arabs in the US (Toledo Oh, has the highest). After relocating to Georgia I have been on a hunt for really good Middle Eastern cuisine. Byblos was definitely NOT it!! The restaurant decor was lovely and the service was excellent but the food was HORRIBLE and expensive!! My husband ordered the Lamb Kabob, and I ordered the Chicken Shawarma we also got an order of Hummous. His Lamb Kabob was just ok in flavor, but it was a small porion ( I think it was 5 or 6 small cubes) for the price ($17.95). My Chicken Shawarma was terrible, it was the consistency of tuna straight out of the can. It was somehow very wet and the meat was very dry at the same time (strange huh?). I took a few bites and couldn't bring myself to eat any more, it was that gross. Then there is the hummous. It was lumpy, gritty, very wet and not very flavorful, not at all what I am used to from back home. I prefer a hummous that is creamy, smooth (almost the consistency of peanut butter), and great flavor. Overall I was very dissappointed in the food, but as I said the service, atmosphere and decor were indeed excellent. So if you have never had Arabic food before, you may very well enjoy this experience. But I believe it is not for someone with Middle Eastern dining experience Pros: The decor and service were excellent Cons: Everything else more

Deplorable Service, we must have gone on a bad night. 10/5/2006

My husband and I love Lebanese food and were thrilled that there was one in the Atlanta area we had not tried. The restaurant is beautiful. We went on a Friday night and a large party had just left when we arrived. We waited to be greeted for over 5 minutes. Finally, someone came and got us a table. We were given menus and it wan't until 20 minutes when someone finally came and spoke to us about ordering. Pros: Beautiful restaurant, good food Cons: Terrible service more

Buffet was excellent 9/24/2006

Tried the Saturday lunch buffet for $8.95. They had 2 different soups, pita & hummus, several cold dishes, and 3 hot dishes. They also had desert, but didnt try that. I sampled a little bit of everything and it was all delicious. Lebanese food is very flavorful with many different spices being used. This was my first time trying Lebanese food, so it was nice that I'm guessing the owner, without me even asking, told us what each dish was at the buffet. The Sunday brunch is supposedly even twice as big. I will definitely be going back to try different selections. Pros: buffet was a real bargain, food was very flavorful and delicious more

Worth the Drive 5/28/2005

If you want authentic Lebanese, it is definately worth the drive to Roswell. Wonderful flavors and excellent choices abound and the owners don't dissappoint if you ask for reccomendations. The Sunday brunch was a terrific value and everything we tried was great. more

My Experience in Byblos 5/15/2003

This quaint restaurant set off in Alpheretta adds to the spice of the people. The great family run restaurant reminds you that there is a great place to go with friends and relax or as a prelude to your night on the town. The live music Friday and Saturday nights really leaves you with insight to the great arab culture within the restaurant especially with the belly dancers. The groups singing or dancing leave you with a smile. The food provides the colorful palette of the arab cuisine. The variety of meat, seafood, and poultry. It is an experience to dine there and the food is the cherry on top. To close the deal, don't forget to try the large hookas (water pipes) offered there. The argileh is an arab specialty and is an interesting way to smoke tobacco. There are different flavors to try. Usually the apple tastes best. Pros: good value, great food, water pipe Cons: crowded on weekends, noise level, descriptions on menu more

A Perfect 10! 1/19/2003

Eating in Byblos is an overall enchanting experience. The excellent service greatly compliments the excellent cuisine. I highly recommend Byblos to anyone looking to have an authentic Lebanese dining experience. To add to the unique atmosphere there is a belly dancer who will entertain you while you are eating; and if youd like you can even join her. more
