The wait is horrible, but I guess they are busy for a reason. Surprisingly it was worth the wait. The crab cakes & steaks are delicious! The service was good too. more

I made a 2pm reservation for 5 and a highchair at By the Docks for Mother's Day.\r We got there at 2pm and they told me there would be a 15 minute wait because they were "backed up." \r Well, by 2:30 we were getting restless, especially since several parties of 12 or more had arrived and been seated since we got there. We were finally sat by a rather rude hostess at 2:55, and there was no highchair in sight. \r By this point we were starving and annoyed, so luckily the server was quick and we got our food and drinks quickly. The food is good, but the quality of the crabcakes has definitely gone downhill since the restaurant opened- they have gradually started adding more filler and less crabmeat. \r This restaurant is NOT WORTH the wait or dealing with the rude staff! more

We have been to By the Docks a few times and have not been disappointed. If you are going on a week-end make sure you make reservations or you will be waiting up to 1 1/2 hours! The food is very good, although their prices are a little higher than some places in the area. more

They have great food and great service. I would recommend this place for anyone. CRAB CAKES are Great. I don't know what the person below is talking about but I don't think they have ever really been there. Here in Bowleys Quarters this is not the best Maryland style crabcakes. If you are looking for pasterized crabmeat from Vietnam, Venezuela or China then this is the restaurant for you! Their crabcakes were full of fillers and tasted like fish. I would rather spend one or two dollars more for a crabcake made withh crabmeat from the United States then eat these awful crabcakes Pros: Parking Cons: Quality of seafood more

I have heard about this place from a few friends and that they have good crab-cakes. So heard over with a few gal pals for dinner this past Tuesday night. I couldn't believe it was a busy as it was for a Tuesday.\r \r I got the Single Crab Cake Platter- lump crab meat seasoned and you can get it broiled or rired. It was pretty good. It came with a salad and baked potato.\r \r The only thing that I didn't care for was the reservation policy. When I called they said they wouldn't seat everyone till the entire party was there and there was a 15 minute leeway for it. This is a nice restaurant, good service, clean, nice atmosphere...HOWEVER...I eat for one reason Their delicious, crabcakes...they're huge!!!
