Burke, Ann, Md - Cornerstone Pediatrics

If I could rate this business as zero stars, I would. Cornerstone Pediatrics comes highly recommended to us from three different people for our 11-month old daughter. My wife and I are currently are very unhappy with her current doctor and were asking around about who other parents use. When my wife called, they told her they would not accept our daughter because she was not a newborn. When I called back to clarify, Angie - the Office Manager - told me they do not accept new patients unless they are newborns because they are so busy and have so many children. They simply do not have enough doctors or enough space, and adding more patients like my 11-month old daughter would cause extra waiting times and make the six doctors even more busy. \r \r To me, that sounds like age discrimination. Obviously, they are not interested in making more money, and they are not interested in expanding by accepting patients by referral. \r \r To parents who are looking for a different pediatrician for their child who is not a newborn, don't waste your time calling this company because they aren't interested in helping you or your kid(s). To parents who already go here, be aware of how far your referral goes. more

I am unsatisfied with this practice however I LOVED Dr.'s Eberhard and Kohsla. They were funny and friendly and I felt like they cared about my child\r On the downside, we were late paying an 85.00 bill while trying to get used to my new high deductable health insurance plan, YES.....my own stupid fault, and got kicked out of the practice.\r Well visits were extremely hard to schedule since they don't schedule any after 3pm which made it hard for me with my work schedule. My child's b-day is in Dec. and I couldn't get a well visit until March. When I told the receptionist I couldn't take a day off of work for a well visit, she said ""well you did last year""! I just thought that was rude. I also needed a sick child visit one day for my child's croup and they were full....no appointments. I was told to go to an urgent care. I don't think they feel that the customer comes first. more

Very impressed with the doctors! They did not hesitate to call in an antibiotic over the phone over the weekend. My daughter was sick on a Sunday with strep and Dr. Eberhart was able to diagnose over phone.... Not having to take my sick child to an urgent care...........Priceless! more

Wonderful staff! Very compassionate doctors and nurses. My children love coming here and I have never had a problem with anyone being rude. My daughter would cry every time we brought her to her doctor in North Carolina and since we have come here she begs to come with me when I have to bring in my son for his well baby visits! I have had to call after hours and the docs have been very patient and understanding. (even on a holiday) Would highly recommend to anyone with small children. Pros: Compassionate staff and docs Cons: Havent found any yet more

Often overbooked and very disorganized practice! I found that with several of the doctors, the chart clearly had not been reviewed prior to our exam. I, unfortunately, had to often initiate a referral out to a specialist (if needed) and felt like there was little continuity of care, at any given time (especially if you saw multiple docs in the practice) I would not recommend this practice! I am very disturbed by the reviews below. I have been taking my children to Cornerstone Pediatrics for a very long time. I am, and have always been very happy with this office. Let's not forget the staff is human as we all are. I know several families that have been going to this office for a long time and some that have been going for a short time. All of them are happy. The staff shouldn't be critized so badly for maybe a mistake or something that you as a parent is taking wrong. I know no one is perfect and maybe things come across differently to others, but give them a break. I know that there are many happy families and they have been satisfied with their care. It's too bad you have bad experiences. Maybe you are being too sensitive. more

Unfortunately, the receptionists are very rude at this practice. As a mother of 2 children, when your child is sick you would hope your Dr.'s office would be understanding. This is not the case. The front office staff niether care what the problem is , nor if your child is critical. In fact all they care about is the co-pay. I was told that by a recepitionist in not so many words. ( ""You cannot speak with a nurse unless you make an appointment and pay for it!!!!!!!!!) Although I like the Dr.'s a great deal, I am not sure it is worth the trouble. The office staff is very unfriendly. The staff that answers the phone and works at the front desk is very rude. I am switching my children to a different doctor because of the way they treat me when I come in. more
