Wow, we did the tasting menu with wine and it just was not worth $700. They could cut the price in half and it is still not worth it. We went downtown to a restaurant called Vic and Anthony's in the Golden Nugget and it was fantastic. This was our most disappointing meal! more

Wynn Winner 7/21/2010

hate buffets, or so I thought. I asked each member of my family (total of 5) what they wanted for lunch on Monday (July 12) and the requests were so varied that a buffet seemed the logical solution. Am I glad we picked the Wynn. The Italian cold cuts were three grades above the typical deli fare, the variety of fresh salads satisfied even my daughter, pot stickers and vegtable egg rolls, sushi, octopus salad, pizza slices, sliced flank steak, roasted leg of lamb...it seemed like the serving area was the length of two football fields, and more importantly everything was fresh and delicious. Oh, and save room for dessert(s), you won't be disappointed. The only thing missing was Steve Wynn personally greating you at the door, but I sure that's because he was back in the kitchen making sure everything was up to his standards.\r \r more

Asian Vacation 11/24/2009

There's nothing better than a hot stone massage, low calorie cocktails and good friends and that's exactly what i got at Encore spa last weekend. My girls took me on a bachlorette party to vegas and treated me to a weekend of pure bliss! The best part was this low calorie cocktail i discovered at the spa called asian vacation. it was a combo of tyku liqueur and diet sierra mist- I'm trying to be good since the wedding is so soon, and this cocktail was virtually calorie free! Wedding here i come! more

the hotel was great, the rooms are excellent, but why are the hotel guest so afraid to have fun or show any emotion. It's like everybody is waiting for a funeral. The casino was empty. these new hotels are like shopping malls with rooms on top. more

Wynn does it again 6/9/2009

I have always been a fan of Steve Wynn and his work and Encore did not fail to impress. It creates an amazing boutique hotel feel for being a large resort. It is similar to Wynn, but even more secluded and boutique in feel. The service is amazing and the food is as well. Sinatra was the best Italian food I have ever had, and the patio setting is gorgeous. I think the best thing about the rooms (as they are very similar to Wynn) is you actually can have a view of the strip and the Wynn hotel from your window. Pros: Elegance, food, service, etc. more

If Possible, Superior To Wynn 3/24/2009

I recently stayed in a Tower Suite on the 60th floor at Encore. The suite has well appointed with a spectular south facing view. Guest services were very good across the board.Since I had reservations at Alex and Tableau, I missed a chance to eat at Botero or Sinatra. Truly an excellent hotel and a good value. more

Among Las Vegas' Best Gourmet Restaurants 3/10/2009

Alex ranks with Andres,Picasso, and Fleur de Lys as my favorite gourmet restaurants. I've eaten there twice in two months and both visits were memorable.The room is dramatic and the service is impeccable. The escargot tart and veal with sweetbread ravioli were exceptional.So are the prices, but Alex is well worth it. I recommend Alex to all. more

A Las Vegas Gem 3/5/2009

Alex is exceptional,even among Las Vegas'fine restaurants.The room is beautiful and service is low key and correct.All dishes were expertly prepared and attractively presented.The veal with sweetbread ravioli is a standout as is the escargot tart starter. Expensive,but well worth it more

Spend your money else where 2/1/2009

I was looking forward to getting blown away. I was disappointed, Its like when the #1 basketball team in the country comes to play in your home town and proceeds to get blown out. OVER RATED!! OVER RATED!! Dont get me wrong, the place is nice but its that cheesy kind of nice. Like when you pass a worker in the hall they always say ""How do you do?"" . Not, ""Hello"", or ""How are you?""; but ""How do you do?"". Who says that? Honestly?They probably have a training manual of things to say or not say. also, the room that I payed $549 a night for was simply average. The beds that they raved about were uncomfotable, the view looking out the window was of several construction sites, and they charged $10 for a 12 ounce bottle of water. Thats ridiculous. However, I did enjoy the night club XS. I only had to pay $500 for a bottle of Grey Goose vodka to get in. Oh wait, I almost forgot, there was a 4 bottle minimum that night. more

Easily one of the, if not the best restaurant I have dined at in Las Vegas thus far. Be sure to ask for Anthony; if the food was not reason enough to visit, his service takes the experience to another level. Pros: Fantastic food, wine list, and service more

Bravo! Outstanding! 4/30/2008

Having dined at all of Jean George's restaurants in NYC, several of Joel Robuchon in NY and in Paris, Pierre Gagnaire, etc... I have to admit that Alex proudly fits into this magnificent row. The overall experience, from the reception (seating strictly on time) through the service, decor and food quality was truly outstanding. The MUST have item is the risotto appetizer...it is just soooo good!\r As far as pricing - it is rather on the expensive side, but it is worth every penny. \r Looking forward to repeat this delicious experience next time in Vegas.
