Budget Truck Rental - Madison

This was the worst customer service experience of my life. DB does not honor truck reservations. I showed up on moving day to pick up my truck and was told that they did not have a truck for me. First, they accused me of not having a reservation. When I provided them with multiple forms of evidence to show that I did, they changed their story and just said that they didn't have a truck for me. Larry told me that he realized he didn't have a truck yesterday. When I asked him why he didn't call me yesterday, he said "it's not my job." He was extremely rude and very, very slow to understand even basic ideas like - I'm moving today and I need a truck. I did the same thing as the above reviewer and went to U-Haul - to professionals. Thank God for U-Haul. If I can prevent one person from renting from them, this will be worth posting. more

A reservation means nothing to this outfit. Arrived to pick up my reserved truck but was told none was available. No apology, no effort to make things right. Non-existent customer service. The guy behind the counter -- who looks like an older Pillsbury Doughboy -- was rude from the moment I walked in the door. I finally went across the street to U-Haul to do business with professionals. more

A) Firstly, DB 66 Service contacted YellowPages.com, and had all their reviews removed from their website - there was 3 poor reviews besides mine there, and now they're gone. B) This place represents Budget Truck Rentals, however, they are quick to say they have no power, nor do they have direct relations with Budget... Even though they have 20 of their trucks sitting out front. C) My truck turn in time was 8am. I called to tell them we might be a little bit late, and the gal we spoke with said we would be charged an extra day even if we were 1 minute late. D) We had filled the gas tank the night before at the gas station next to our house, and drove all of 6 miles to DB 66 Service. When we pulled in, the truck's tank was showing 1/8 gone already! 6 miles takes 1/8 of a 30 gallon tank??? E) We were told if we didn't fill it to full, we would be charged, and unable to check in, which would result in another day's cost. We put every last penny we had on us into the tank ($5.02), and the person was STILL able to put in 1/3 of a gallon into the tank. F) We were told we had to be there by 8am, yet we ended up waiting until 8:30 for the gentleman to even get to work in order to check us in! He wasn't even there at 8am!!! So WHY should we have to be?? G) When I began talking to him about our situation, he was immediately argumentative, and trying to pick a fight with us. "Do you really want to argue with me?" was his exclamation as he got in my face! I could not believe it! more
