I would like to counter any negative reviews regarding Pep Boys at 1421 Gause Avenue in Slidell, LA.\r

1. Where are you going to go on a weekend (the only two days most people are off work) to get your auto/truck repaired? Not many, I guarantee.\r
\r
2. Where are you going to go that let's you bring your own new parts, and them install them for you????\r
\r
3. Here is ""my"" story. While working out of state on a Saturday, no personal tools with me (and, I can do the work). I called Pep Boys and told them I have the parts, but not the tools to install them. I needed a coil & 1 spark plug replaced on a Ford Expedition (one of the hardest to work on by the way). Patrick who answered the phone said yes bring it over as I have a mechanic that can work on it right away. When I got there, I met Patrick who was very professional, then, I met Laurie, the Service Manager (also very professional). I told them what I needed done & nothing else. They quoted me a price (which by the way is a published rate for all ""Certified"" mechanics in the area if not also the state or U.S. wide). Patrick told the mechanic (Steve) what I needed done. Steve immediately proceeded to work on my vehicle. When he was done with what I asked he took me into the garage area to show me a vacuum leak for the emission system which can effect any vehicle greatly. Pep Boys did not have this particular part for my vehicle. Steve did not have to tell me this, he did it because he is a professional mechanic that cares about vehicles and their performance. I was able to find the part elsewhere and fixed that myself. I probably would have broke down on the highway somewhere had I not been told about the problem from the Pep Boys mechanic.\r

So, if you can find somewhere cheaper on a weekend, watchout. Otherwise if you want to complain about Pep Boys, do the work yourself!
Pros: Good Service/Open Weekends
