Best in Richmond 3/19/2011

Our small group of six went to Buckhead's recently and had fantastic dinners, from the steaks to the lamb to the crabcakes! The scallop appetizer in a chipolte/raspberry reduction sauce was superb. The service was very attentive and knowledegable. I had the steak fromage and it is excellent. I'm a Richmonder and have enjoyed Buckhead's a long time and recommnend it strongly. Go to Buckhead's, best in Richmond! more

Simply the Best!! 8/17/2008

Although there were several other restaurants in Richmond which I considered to have my 50th birthday celebration I chose Buckhead's and was extremely pleased. Our dinner party of 12 was seated on time, attended to by a courteous and educated waiter, and appreciated the quiet atmosphere. Weenjoyed several varied appetizers(escargot, calamari), a fine bottle of white zinfandel, and great steaks and seafood. The portions were appropriate and everything was prepared to perfection. Our waiter was courteous and knowledgeable and we would not hesitate to have future important events celebrated at Buckheads. Finally, the location is wonderful since it is very close to a major road(Parham and Patterson Ave) and so easy to find parking since it is in a strip shopping center. So this is the place to go for impeccable service and great food. more

Great Steak with NYC standards 2/21/2007

Great Steak! Even by NYC standards. I have eaten at Peter Luger's to BLT Steak and they are up there with the best of them. The Steak had a great crispy outside while cooked perfect in the center. Keep it up so i have great steak to eat when i come back to Richmond! Pros: ambience, wine list, steak Cons: location more

Superb Food! Scary dead animals. 12/11/2005

I have been to Buckheads twice for company talks/dinners. Both times I have been extremely pleased with the food. The shrimp coctail is the best i've ever had (high quality shrimp). The salmon had a creamy lemon sauce over it that was to die for. I have been to many company dinners (Flemmings, Maggianos, Mortons) and Buckheads always has the best food, drinks, and service. They never skimp. I would highly recommend this place, as long as you don't have nightmares later that night of buck heads on the wall (it's a bit creepy). Pros: food, service, fireplace Cons: dead deer more

Must have gone down over over the years 11/13/2005

We're new to Richmond and were excited to try Buckhead's. The hostess was curt, the waiter unattentive. The food was very good, but not worth the very high prices. They must have changed the chairs since the review in 2002, because the chairs were the worst -flimsy, little wooden ones. Expect to pay at least $40+ for the entree alone. The wine list was extensive however expect to pay from 30-1800 dollars! Pros: steaks, wine list Cons: high prices, awful chairs more

Great Steak, Great Wine! 8/26/2005

Although it's been a while since I've eaten at Buckhead's, it is a favorite. Nice ambience with the look of a wine cellar. Their wine list is extensive and very good. The food is excellent, the bone-in ribeye was the excellent. Always worth returning! Pros: Food, Ambience Cons: Slightly expensive more

A Must While in Richmond 3/11/2004

From the outstanding hostess to the talented wait staff, and a team in the kitchen who know how to cook a steak, Buckhead's is a must for the steak lover. Need more than a steak? Their menu does not discriminate. Spend some time talking to your waiter about your preferences. They are very knowledgeable and accommodating. And the Martinis? One of the best I have ever had. more

Best steak house! 11/4/2003

My all time favorite steak house in Richmond. Top quality food and service and the best wine list you can find in this area. Expensive, yes, but you definitely feel you get what you pay for. Perfect for special occasions. I hope the new owner(s) will continue on the same path. Pros: Excellent food, Excellent service, Outstanding wine list Cons: Expensive more

Best steak in Richmond!!! I went here for an Anniversery and was extremely pleased with the food and the service. more

Forget Outback and have a real Steak! 10/25/2002

This place is a hidden gym in Richmond. The food is absolutely wonderful. Make no mistake you should go there if you want a steak dinner- they have several cuts and preparation methods. But my wife ordered a seared salmon and it was very well prepared. This place is probably a special celebration restaurant for most of us because of the prices but it is worth every dime and the service is the most attentive I've ever had outside of Parisian restaurants. Pros: Unbelievable Food, impeccable Service, gread wine selection Cons: a little price, okay, very pricey more

Fistful of Dollars 10/7/2002

Pleasant ambience, helpful and knowledgeable wait staff, plenty of wines to choose from, menu sufficiently short as to make for quick decisions. Food is well prepared both visually and gastronomically. Make sure that the Brinks Armoured Truck is outside to cover the bill. Menu prices must be high to pay for the large wine selection that most likely sits for long periods of time because of the high prices. Pros: plenty of wine choice, compact menu, comfy chairs Cons: expensive, really expensive, did I say expensive? more

The best steak in Richmond 8/30/2002

Wonderfully aged and tasteful steak, service, and everything else. The ONLY place to go in Richmojd if you want a great steak, service, and everything that goes with a great meal. One of the best wine lists in the city. more

i've died and gone to heaven 7/25/2002

Having traveled across this great country & tried steaks at some of the finer resturants, I always return to Buckheads for a truly heavenly experience. The service is exquisite, the ambience is second to none, the experience overall is outstanding. The wine selection is phenomenal as are the steaks. I recommend Buckheads to everyone, over Ruth Chris' every day. Pros: food, wine, service Cons: none, none, none more

Ambience is the word! 7/24/2002

This place has wood panelling, ambience, jazz over the inhouse sound system, and great food. What more could one ask for in a romantic place to take your special lady? more
