ok, i don't even LIKE mochi. but if it's wrapped around bubbie's ice cream, somehow it's transformed into something magically delicious. the other boxed stuff in the costco freezer section can't even come close. the BEST BEST BEST mochi ice cream is in the summer, when the have the special seasonal MANGO flavor. alas, last year was a terrible year for mangoes and thus, i was deprived of their freshly made mango mochi ice cream made from scratch. i am crossing my fingers, saying my prayers and rubbing my lucky rabbit's foot that we'll be drowning in mangoes this summer (thought it's not looking good right now...). but in the meantime, i'll glad settle for lychee, peanut butter chocolate and chocolate mint. p.s. there are many many other ice cream desserts offered, many with ridiculous (and some find, offensive) names. however, i've never even made it past the mochi ice cream...and it's been 6 years since i've discovered bubbies! more

Looking for a place to snuggle up with your honey after dinner, Bubbies is the place to go... get some mochi, sexy ice-cream pies or just share a cone this place is fun and has a 'chilly' atmosphere -- made for cuddling!! I usually get a scoop of green tea mixed with a scoop of mocha... delish! more

If I was in Hawaii right now I would seriously go out right now to this place to get a lychee mochi ice cream or a green tea mochi ice cream. They are that good. I believe they are 75 cents a piece but they may have raised the cost since the last time I went. It is sooo delicious. However, I'm a chocolate fan and I really don't like the chocolate mochi. Mochi should just not come in chocolate. However, every flavor beside that is so wonderful. The lychee is my personal favorite. However, sadly you can't stop at one. It has to be one of those days where you say bring on the carbs. more

It's late at night and you are not quite sleepy yet, so why not stop at Bubbies for some late night ice cream? This is a very common feeling for us locals, as when we go there at 11PM at night, there are many others there too - wanting a little guilty pleasure. They have great desserts you can't get else where and if you do, it just doesn't taste the same. Bubbie's quality of Ice Cream is above and beyond any you ever tasted. Their "Multiple Orgasms" and Green Tea Mochi ice cream is awesome! more

ok, so call me a prude, but i think their names are juvenile. pornographic names aside, their ice cream is amazing. my favorite is their mochi ice cream. i'm not a big fan of mochi alone, but with their ice cream, holy cow, i'm in heaven. you know the mochi ice cream you can buy at costco or at the grocery store? NO COMPARISON. theirs is soft and chewy and they have way more flavors, may of them fresh. my all-time favorite is the seasonal special, mango, which only arrives if there's enough to make plenty (this year there wasn't--i was soooooo sad). it's so good, i usually buy a tub of 12-18 pieces! more

What I really like about Bubbies Homemade Icecream and Dessert is "MOCHI ICE-CREAM". My friend took me there long time ago and now i addict to it. I really love its mochi ice-cream. Bubbies has a variety of favors to choose from, such as lychee, green tea, mint choc, choc. expresso, sakura, coffee, vanilla, mint vanilla, asuki bean, strawberry, and many many more..... if you like Ice-cream, please try Bubbie's mochi ice-cream. you will love it. they also have other desserts and other menus as well. but, i think its mochi ice-cream is the best! We always crave for Bubbies, esp. their green tea mochi ice cream! There's something about this place that makes you come back for more. It is no doubt the best local ice cream parlor on the island. Lucky for the university students who live so close that they can go there anytime. I also enjoy their "screaming orgasm" ice cream which like the other review mentioned, is one of their funny or wacky names they have. It is consist of coffee ice cream, cookies and cream and chocolate. It is delicious! Yes, I would even say orgasmic. =) more

If anything you should go to this place for their mochi ice cream. It is the absolute best I have ever had in Hawaii. I love the lychee flavor the best. It's simply perfect. Its a nice place to go and I highly reccomend you go simply for the mochi ice cream more

My favorite special flavor, which only comes out on occasion is the banana nut bread ice cream. It’s banana flavored ice cream with large chunks of banana nut bread mixed in. It’s like eating ice cream and cake all in one. more

If you are on a diet, don't go in or you'll blow your carb count for the month! Its no wonder that I see the owner rolling out of our favorite shopping warehouse with a cart full of sugar and other raw materials. Wow, their stuff is rich! You think Ben and Jerry's is good, Haagen who? All, their stuff is diet ice cream for weanies. Bubbies stuff is probably twice as heavy (ok, maybe I'm exaggerating again). All kidding aside, their ice cream is so good, if you are in the University area drop in and grab some ice cream, you'll love it! As a bonus, the names he gives them will crack you up. more
