Brunswick Animal Hospital

Beatrice Turk of Countryside Animal Hospital in Brunswick, Ohio has had many complaints filed with the Veterinary Board regarding her treatment of animals. She has been fined, her license was suspended and she was put on probation on numerous occasions as a result of these complaints. My 10 year old Shih Tzu died under her care in November 2001, I filed a complaint with the Vet Board and she was subsequently reprimanded and fined (a slap on the wrist). I have spoken to a woman who is devastated because her cat died after being spayed by Dr. Turk, she also filed a complaint. Dr. Turk's treatment of animals was on local TV and in local papers in April 2006 where others said their animals were mistreated or died under Dr. Turk's care. Currently there was an article in the Plain Dealer dated April 18, 2013 regarding a dog and a cat that were both euthanized by Dr. Turk injecting their hearts with cardiac sticks with no sedation, the pet's owner was horrified. I have heard that this results in a slow and painful death and state law bans this practice. It is inconceivable that Dr. Turk's license has not been revoked after years of complaints against her. more

We had our cat for almost 17 years. She was always very active and healthy. I had noticed a lump on the side of her neck about the size of a golf ball. She was eating fine and being herself, but we had taken her there to see what it was. The next day, That hack of a doctor called my grandmother and told her it was cancer and they wouldn't even bother opening it to find out what it was, and it would be better to just put her down. I was horrified. Why wouldn't you even do a scan or some kind of test to find out what it was. My friend's mom also took her kitten there to get spayed and declawed. They over dosed the kitten with medication, and called her to tell her the kitten had cardiac failure. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS HACK JOB! Pros: NOTHING Cons: EVERYTHING more

Turk is by far the worst vet alive. She destroyed by sheltie by the time he was 2 yrs. old. Go to Google and search her name. She has had many cases against her for killing innocent family pets. Has 2 open cases right now! I, myself, had her shut down for several months, then she was placed on probation for a year (or two, can't remember) plus she had to pay a fine of I believe $2,000. I don't understand how the OVMB lets her keep practicing!! P.S. the only reason I gave her even one star is a rating was required to publish this. Cons: Kills animals more
