Great for a laid back date 11/7/2005

I wanted to take out a friend for dinner and wanted to try somewhere new. I checked the reviews here and decided to try it out. We were seated promptly, the service was great, and the food was fantastic. Price was pretty decent as well. I would definitly recomend trying it out for a date or just a laid back dinner. more

Outstanding food and service 9/1/2004

I went to Brown Sugar Cafe for the first time last night and had an amazing late evening dinner. The service was impeccable. They checked with us often, but were not intrusive and refilled our water glasses constantly throughout our stay. The food was some of the best Thai and Vietnamese I have had in the city. I've found places around Allston/Brighton to be catered to the college crowd and was pleasantly surprised that Brown Sugar Cafe was not like those other places. I can not wait to go back and I will be bringing all my friends. Pros: Attentive service, Excellent food, Great quality more

GREAT! 4/25/2003

Whoever claimed this place has bad food, needs to have their tastebuds checked. Brown Sugar has GREAT food. I have introduced several people to the restaurant and everyone has returned multiple times. THe value is great, sometimes the service is slightly slow (only when really busy). This is a gem in the otherwise urban wasteland known as Boston University's campus. Pros: Great Taste, Good Value more

The food here just doesn't meet my standards. inother words, it foodis horrid. Stay away from BS if u want good food. Pros: romantic, clean, classy Cons: bad food, americanized food more
