Good, Clean, Basic Drugstore 3/19/2006

Brooks is 100 times better than it was before the renovations, for those who missed the dank aisles and dim lighting. It's a pleasure to go there now as you can actually see what's on the shelves and the place is clean. The pharmacy closes at 7 on Sundays which feels early - the CVS in Porter Square is 24 hours if you have an emergency. Delightful makeup selection. Also a pretty good fridge case with decent ice cream. more

A Simple Drugstore That Gets the Job Done 3/19/2006

I enjoy going to Brooks just to see what odds and ends are on sale. It's a 12 minute walk from my apartment, so it is a conveniently located drug store. The prices are average and the store is somewhat run-down, but they make up for it by carrying a wide variety of products (I once found a glue-gun there!). Brooks reminds me of a retro drugstore from the 70's--the fact they are able to survive amid a world of CVS's is pretty impressive. more
