I have an oriental rug from Turkey, given to me by my husband's family 15 years ago, and I've been vacuuming it weekly all these years. It's in pretty good condition and we've been lucky as far as avoiding major spills. I still wanted to get a good, thorough clean for once and I was told to do my homework before hiring a company so I wouldn't destroy it. To be honest, they're all pretty much the same as far as pricing. We had about three companies come over to do estimates.I think the key is to find a company with people who know how to fix oriental rugs as well as clean them. They seem to know a bit more. So when the man from this company came over, he talked to us a bit about oriental rugs, dyes, styles and so on, and told us he could fix the fringes too. In the end, we had him do the cleaning and the repair. We're happy with the service.
