Italian desserts 10/9/2005

I have lived in Southeastern Louisiana for nearly all twenty eight years of my life. I have seen the Angelo Brocato cookies and desserts in stores but had yet to actually visit the store in Mid-City. When I finally got the chance to do so I was not disappointed. When you walk into Angelo Brocato's you maybe underwhelmed. It's a small little place with maybe eight small tables packed into a little place. For a place that has been featured on the Food TV network, you would expect something more. What it may lack in size and decor, it more than makes up for its wonderful choices of deserts, ice creams, and gelato. more

Atmosphere: Old Italian style dessert & gelato shop. 50’s style furnishings. Very cute. Prices: Great prices for yummy desserts and gelato. Food: The hazelnut gelato is the best but most people go for the standard lemon ice. Service: Very good. Location: mid-city on north carrollton near city park. Take a walk in the park and stop off to get a treat! more

Best Italian Pastries....Esp. Cannoli's 7/14/2005

Brocato's makes the best Cannoli's in the area not to mention the Almond Biscotti or the Italian Chocolate assorted Cookies. If you like Italian desserts this is the place to hang out at. They also allow you take out an order. Thank God they have a website so you can order what you may miss from New Orleans.... more
