Horrible Place for hip hop 3/10/2010

Bev Brown offers a hip hop class here at BDC. While the class itself is a ton of fun and a fantastic workout, Bev also offers a workshop that she does unrelated to BDC. There is no audition, and she implies that paying means youre in all the pieces, but as it turns out, a certain 15 people are favored and all others are flat out kicked out of pieces that time and money went into learning. STAY AWAY more

Dance dance dance 2/7/2010

BDC has a dizzying array of instructors and types of dance classes to choose from. It can be overwhelming for someone who is just exploring dance and haven't made up their mind yet on what they want to zone in on. Their website schedule is just delightful...it's like having a delicious menu of different classes and instructors to choose from everyday, teaching from early in the morning to past 10pm at night. Awesome! Yeah, they're pretty passionate about dance here...you can literally dance til you drop. Pros: Diverse instructors and curriculum, flexible schedule Cons: Hit or miss experience more

Best hip hop dance class in town 12/17/2008

If you're looking for a hiphop group class, this is the best place in town. Instructors are amazing and the studio is very clean and spacious. Great environment to learn in. Price is also pretty cheap-- under $20 per person (I forget the exact price). Only thing is since it is so popular, the classes can get pretty crowded, so you have to be OK sweating right alongside 40 other students. All in all I would recommend this place over any other hiphop school in the city. Pros: cheap price (under $20 per class), clean studio space, amazingly talented instructors Cons: because of popularity classes can get pretty crowded sometimes more

Fun, Challenging, Pricey Hip-Hop classes 9/7/2007

I take hip-hop classes here every week. I love them, but the $18 per class really adds up. Have fun! Pros: Awesome, professional instructors Cons: Expensive more

BDC is the Essential for all Dancers! 8/1/2007

I absolutely love BDC. Now in the new location on 45th and 8th, the studio is spacious, clean (for a dance center), welcoming, has an AMAZING faculty, and AIR CONDITIONED! BDC specializes in hip hop and jazz. If you are looking for good ballet training go elsewhere...like Steps. In the summer it gets very crowded with visiting groups and the classes are a bit too large. Also, I think that the prices went up so you should check on that even though you do have to understand that you are studying under some of the best in the business. Pros: Great teachers, people, new studio Cons: Can get too crowded in the summer. A bit pricey more
