Brinkley's is a one of a kind dive bar where people tend to let their hair down. It's dark and rather dingy but thats part of the appeal. Best night's to go are Monday's and Tuesday's during the school year as there are always plenty of underage school girls getting their drink on. Like the other reviewer, I would recommend the bacon cheeseburger (aka the Cheddarburger), although there's a science to ordering it that my friends and I haven't quite cracked. You can get it rare, but not if someone else orders it medium. And it will be less rare the more people are in the restaurant. And sometimes they'll run out of kaiser rolls and you'll get it on a smaller bun. But when they have the kaiser rolls and the kitchen isn't too busy, it's the best burger in the metro area. Also recommended are the #3 breakfast special and the spinach omelette. The waffles really are excellent. This little 24 hour diner has GREAT WAFFLES, try the Number 4 special, with bacon and eggs, cooked to order, plus there are a lot of wonderful late-night fare. Try the bacon-cheeseburger, it's robust, made from fresh, not frozen, hand formed patties and a large side of fries. All the food is fresh, and for an unusual twist, there is a karioke bar upstairs.
