Brierwood Child Care Center

Best care for our children! As a parent of chidlren who attend Brierwood I am somewhat surprised at the negative comments from the parent above. We have a very open and respectful relationship with the director and teachers. They are considered an extension of our immediate family. In these hard economic times when both parents need to work, it is comforting to know we can entrust our children to these caregivers. Webcam access is a benefit, not an all day event. After re-reading the comment, I have to ask this parent, did you give the director and/or teacher the benefit of speaking with them before maligning them on a website? Perhaps a jaded verision of what really happened is what we are reading. I got the impression this child is still attending the center. The parent boasted about calling New York state - maybe the Center isn't the problem, it could be the parents. I have reported this daycare to the New York State Office of Child and Family Services because the ""teacher"" in the room humiliated/abused my child. The State will be out there to investigate. more

It seems as though those who are running this location are immature and very unprofessional, even high school clique-like. The turnover rate for the teachers seems extremely high in comparison to other places. Very often they are out of their ratio between students and employees...as a parent you can look right on the camera and count the individuals in the room and see this. My family left the center, for what I claimed was another reason, but really was because I was extremely unhappy with the way the center seemed ot be run. I started my child at this day care with high hopes. My child had come home at least four times with bites on his body that I was not told of when I picked him up. The staff knew nothing of them and offered no explination. The director said she would talk to them about it. He continued to get bit, so I pulled him without notice. He was nearly 3. I would most certainly recommend this daycare facility to parents that must use childcare. Brierwood is a little more expensive than most daycares in the area. I must say that I have complained about the prices, but I would not change a thing. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I definitely want the best for my child.
