I was so impressed with the sales staff at Demetrios!! They were super friendly and truly cared about what my needs were. I was able to stay within my budget with their expertise. So my best friend is getting married in ABQ in June, and she chose Demetrios as her dress vendor. I called to give them my measurements for the bridesmaid dress, and they told me they would order a dress that was a full two sizes bigger than I wear. I was very, very skeptical- especially when the lady on the phone misheard my bust size and almost put me down for a 48 inch bust instead of 38 inch. I was positive I was going to receive a dress that was way too big, and indeed I did (in fact my husband burst out laughing when I tried it on). I wish I hadn't trusted them, the whole bridal industry is a scam. Why pay for a $200 dress (plus an extra $30 to ship it to me out of state), when it comes NO WHERE near fitting me? Oh, because now I have to take it to a seamstress and pay someone else another $100 to fix it! Why couldn't I have just received the dress in my size in the first place? I have no plans to make curtains out of the extra fabric, so my only guess is that the don't care about ripping off their customers for as much cash as they possibly can. Ridiculous. I now own a $300 lime-green dress that I will get exactly one wear out of- awesome! more

I went to 5 bridal stores and bought the first dress I tried on at the first bridal store I went to; Brides by Demetrios. I absolutely loved my dress! I received great service the first day I went there by Elizabeth Riss. She was so sweet and helpful and then she quit =( The other girls there were not as helpful or as friendly as she was so that was a disappointment, but that shouldn't be a deal breaker because their dresses are awesome. My dress came in on time and it was as beautiful as when I had tried it on the first time. I had lost 23 pounds and needed alterations big time. Do not take your dress to the seamstress they have there. She is not that great. She kept getting the dress wrong because she was too scared to bring it in too much. She finally got it right, but she made me nervous! And a good seamstress would have gotten it right the first time, not the third. Overall, my experience with Brides by Demetrios was good. I looked great in their dress and that's what matters to me. more

I have nothing against the demetrios name as far as my dress goes, it's beautiful. The store and the employees however, are horrible. I ordered my bridal gown 1 year and 1 month ahead of the wedding and thank goodness b/c it took the store 10 months to get the dress in. We also chose to order our bridal party dresses there and this has been the worst nightmare. We ordered the bridal party dresses 6 months ahead of time when they said it only took 3 months to get the dresses in. It has now been 5 months, my wedding is in 1 month and they don't have an answer as far as when the dresses will be in. We have spent close to $5,000 there and the service we get for this is HORRIBLE!!!! We call and the girls never know anything, they never return our calls and are clueless everytime we call. They keep telling us they have to pull our file. How long does it take to pull a fricken file!!!!!!!! I was going to recommend this place to several friends who are getting married and now I'm telling everyone never to go there. The only wedding nightmare we've had to deal with has been this establishment. All I have to say to other brides that go there, is GOOD LUCK, YOU'RE GOING TO NEED IT!!! The dress I got was amazing.. but in ordering it there were problems, for whatever reason they did not send all the measurements along.. The style dress I had was suppose to have a neck to hem measurement because there was complex lace at the bottom, so it would come the ""right length"" from the factory... well it didn't it was about 3"" too long. So the seamstress had to remove all the lace, hem it, and put it all back on... As they should have Demetrios paid for that. It turned out okay, and for fear of any chance of messing it up, I let the fact that she didn't put the lace back on correctly slide.... in the front center was suppose to have a lace""peak"" but instead it had a ""valley"" it looked okay, no one really noticed but those of us who knew better. The girls who work there seem a bit cold and stuck up at times, or too busy to help you when you walk in. They are more expensive then other Bridal shops, so I would expect better service and personality... but at least I got a rockin' dress. Cons: Girls are kind of rude more
