I had an incredible experience at Bridal Trousseau! Lisa and all the ladies at the store were so helpful. I was able to get the dress that I wanted for the price that I needed. I fell in love with Matthew Christopher dresses after seeing them on wedding shows in NY... And come to find out, Bridal Trousseau is one out of two stores that sells his dresses in CT. Every time I went to the store, I felt extremely comfortable. The ladies knew exactly what I was looking for, for my wedding day! more

Bridal trousseau is the best bridal shop I have ever been to. This bridezilla who keeps posting these negative reviews under different names might i add should be sued for slander. Heres the truth ppl! she changed her mind on her dress after a final sale and wants bridal trousseau to pay for it. i was there when she was there looking for my own dress. I witnessed none of the slanderous bashing behavior that this ""bride"" claims. We waited like 3 hours for service b/c you were taking up so much of her time. Even left for lunch and came back and you were still there. She buys a dress and changes her mind on a final sale and all i see ALL OVER THE INTERNET IS stay away etc. i mean cmon. I was a patient bride and kind and if i worked there i would have been like jeeeez. Now is it your personal goal to destroy their great reputation? very nice..well what goes around comes around and god bless the unlucky man who is marrying you! find a hobby or something! officially ANNOYED WITH YOU and take nothing you say seriously. STAY AWAY!! All of the bad reviews are right. I had a TERRIBLE experience at this place. Lisa, one of the salespeople (and co-owner) was rude to me on numerous occasions - even making snotty comments about how long I was in the store one day. She is impossible to deal with and even felt that it was her right to berate me in relation to a misunderstanding about my dress payment. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. If I had known I would be treated like this I never would have bought my dress here. Wedding dress shopping should be pleasant. No dress is worth the treatment I rec'd. I would recommend driving the extra hour and a half to NY (great cust service including thank you notes and follow up calls) or 30 minutes to Mariellas (Rocky Hill). Making Lisa a co-owner was a huge mistake. She is terrible for the business' reputation and has unbelievably bad customer service skills. Other people have more stressful jobs than being a wedding dress salesperson and still manage to treat people with respect. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends. All of the dresses they sell can be found at flagship stores in NYC. Lisa needs customer service and anger management classes. more

I ended up choosing this store because the first initial experience was good -they seemed knowledgable and helpful...until I put a deposit down on my dress. Then they treated me like I was worthless. Whatever they promise you about dates, Do NOT believe them - I bought my dress in February, 2009, and they told me that it would be in by May - I did not get it until the WEEK before my wedding which was in August. (advice if you do happen to go here - give them a wedding date of AT LEAST 2 months before your real date) I was naturally worried a few weeks before the wedding and kept calling them, and they were nothing but rude to me, saying things like ""you aren't the ONLY bride getting married"" - no apologies whatsoever! Also, my veil didn't come in until 2 days before my wedding - it was ordered in February as well! I ended up calling the distributor, Laura Jayne in Canada, and was told by them that Bridal Trousseau gave them a later wedding date which is why it wasn't shipped until last minute. Not only that, but they add in extra surprise charges when you do your fitting there - If you get anything other than a hem done, expect to pay about $200 extra. ALSO, my bustle broke before I made it to the reception, and I had to keep fixing my top because of the poor sewing job, the fabric on the inside kept folding over. more

Stored my wedding dress at the store until my fitting and when I went to get it it had water stains on the dress on the outer hip/knee area. They would not take resposibility for the stain and said they would have it cleaned and when I went back- the stains were still there. They had the dress hanging in a ripped bag with a broken hanger. I went to Bridal Trousseau several times before choosing my wedding gown. I went to several stores in the area and although I felt the service was good, I felt the most comfortable with Bridal Trousseau. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision at any time. I would definetly recommend them to anyone looking for a excellent customer and a relaxed atmosphere. more
