Bridal Extraordinaire

I went to Bridal Extraordinaire to find the perfect wedding dress. I had quite a few people with me to help me pick out the perfect dress. I had come from a great appointment at The Gown Gallery and was in high spirits, that is until I stepped foot into Bridal Extraordinaire. The minute I walked in there wasn?t even standing room. I did have an appointment and they escorted us all to the ?private? room where I was to try on dresses. I told the sales associate what I was looking for and she immediately asked my budget. Apparently a $2,000 is pretty low for this store as she made it very apparent that she was not happy with what I was comfortable spending. I told her I was looking for something with lace and some bling. She talked to me as if I was stupid and didn?t know what I wanted, even though I knew exactly what I was looking for. She asked me if I had found any dresses anywhere else. I told her I had my eye on a dress, but was excited to see what the store had to offer. She immediately said ?well why are you here then?? I was floored by her abrasiveness, but was in high spirits and didn?t want her to ruin my day. The room was supposed to be private, but was in the front of the store and had other sales associates coming in and out constantly pulling dresses for other brides. Moving on to what happened next, I must set the stage to say that I have had some health issues that have made me gain some weight. So, I was particularly self-conscious going into the appointment. I was trying on dresses in a size 14, which is not my typical size. After I was shown 3 dresses, she proceeds to tell me that ?I have shown you everything within YOUR budget.? She then turns to my size 2 maid of honor and says ?if someone else in your bridal party wants to try on dresses you can see other dresses, but I have shown you everything in YOUR size.? I have never felt so low in my entire life. I was on the verge of tears. No one has ever made me feel like fat poor white trash like Bridal Extraordinaire did. I was there a total of 30 minutes, which was 30 minutes too long. I could not get out of there fast enough. Congrats on your horrible customer service. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE, NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY!!! They are a horrible business!!! Luckily I ended my day going back to The Gown Gallery to purchase my dress. While I was there my party was talking with another bride?s party who just so happened to have just left Bridal Extraordinaire with the same type of horrible experience as well. We both ended up buying our dresses at The Gown Gallery and ended our horrible experience on a high note. Congrats Bridal Extraordinaire on two lost sales and tons of horrible word of mouth!!! more

I could not agree more with Burned Bride-to-be. My son's fiance, her mother, her sister and another bridesmaid all ordered and paid for their gowns 8 months before the wedding. They live north of Omaha which is a 4 hour trip. Everything was fine until the last bridesmaids dress arrived right before Christmas. It had been ordered with extra length ($30 extra) and both the bridesmaid and the person assisting us initialed the order. Since I am the only one who lives in the area, I picked up the dress and delivered it at Christmas. The dress did NOT have extra length, so we called and they said bring it back, there is plenty of time for a re-order and we will take care of it. That's when the nightmare began--the dress was scheduled to be in by the end of March and I arranged several showers, etc. to coincide with those two weekends in order to deliver the dress. My experience was excellent, the staff was very friendly and knowledgable. It didnt take them very long before the found the perfect wedding dress for me. Because I live out of town they made it extremely and convient for me to have an opportunity to see and try on my dress each time I came into town. I absolutely love Bridal Extraordinaire! more

Although I ultimately found a dress that I liked (have not purchased and am looking elsewhere) I would not recommend this salon. First, I showed up for my appointment and no one greeted me or even said hello until the woman before me had finished paying. Then once they realized I was there to try on for the first time they warmed right up. The girl who helped me was nice but I've felt much more comfortable with other salons. The worst part was, the "room" where I was seated was directly beside the receptionist so I overheard them making nasty remarks about brides who had to reschedule and lost sales. They clearly don't have the bride in mind, only their own pocket books. Also, seems to be more expensive than other bridal stores in Kansas City. more

I got my wedding dress at Bridal Extraordinaire. I had the BEST experience out of all the places I went in Kansas City, gown gallery, notles ect. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I could not have asked for a better experience in finding my wedding dress. LOVE LOVE LOVED it. I have recommended Bridal Extraodinaire to everyone I know. Bottom line best place to get your wedding dress by far! more

I got my wedding dress at Bridal Extraordinaire. It was by far the best store I went to while looking for my dress. Believe me I went everywhere. The girl that worked with me was SO good. She listened to what I wanted and help me find the dress of my dreams! I felt comfortable and the customer service from the moment I walked in the door to the moment you walked out was great. I would recommend this store to anyone and everyone. LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!!! more

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding out of town and this boutique carried the line of dresses that the Bride had chosen. I went to try on the dress so I could get a size for the Bride to order. I was told at the store that I was not allowed to try on any dresses if I was not going to be a customer at their store. The lady at the store had no customer service or personal skills at all. She was very rude. I would never recommend this bridal store to anyone. Wedding plans are stressful for everyone involved and you would expect that a bridal store would understand that and at least let me try on a dress. I am at the age where a lot of my friends and family are getting married and this is a store that I will tell them to avoid. more

A close friend of mine ordered a beautiful and expensive gown and when it came time to have alterations, it was a nightmare experience. The person who did the alterations made a total mess of the dress and it is now 2 weeks before the wedding, and she has no dress she can wear. Promises made to her have not been kept and at this point, we would never recommend anyone to this shop more
