bridal boutique of carmel 9/10/2007

Very unprofessional, dishonest; We bought my daughters dress and paid in full and trusted bridal boutique of carmel to store it until her wedding. 4 months after we bought it we went back to have her try her dress on again and look at possible bridesmaid dresses, we even made an appointment ahead of time so they could pull her gown and have it ready. When we arrived they were avoiding us and would not talk to us/ I finally went and found the owner and she said they lost her dress and did not know how that could happen. She kept changing her story as to what happen to the dress, even as to go so far as to tell us maybe the delivery man took it. My daughter was in tears, I asked her what she would be willing to do for us. She just kept saying she didnt know what happen to the dress and did not even suggest a remedy for us. When I asked for a refund she just kept looking at me/ I did get a refund after refusing to leave the store without one. I suggest that noone uses this dress shop as they are dishonest and unwilling to help their customers in times of problems. I totally agree with other reviewers that this shop is very unprofessional and do not care about their customers only to get their money and after that the customers are nothing to them.\r \r I hope that this will help to saveanother bride the heartbreak and stress of using this shop and services for their dress.\r \r Cons: unprofessional, dishonest, badservice more

Alterations not Completed 8/31/2007

They did not complete all of the bustles on my dress. On my wedding day I noticed there was a pin sticking out and when I removed it from the dress, one of the strings for the bustle came out. So the nice French bustle I paid for couldn't be completed (it was lopsided and looked really bad). The bustle was also sewn with white thread on an ivory dress. This was just plain tacky. Because of all the trouble we had with them, I guess I should have checked things over more closely, but unfinished work is uncalled for.\r \r I agree with the other reviewers. The service after purchasing the dress was horrible. None of my alterations were done on time. They were late for all four alteration appointments and blamed me for taking up their time (ok, but I did pay $370 to have my dress altered).\r \r Please do not use them for alterations. Pros: Great Selection of Pronovias Dresses Cons: Horrible Service and Incomplete Alterations more

Great Sales, Horrible Alteration Service and Professionalism 8/2/2007

I had a great time buying my dress. They make you feel like the only bride in the world. Their selection of designer dresses is unlike any you will find in the area (Pronovias, Waters, Vera Wang). Then I had appointments for alterations and I was treated like a second rate customer. I agree with the previous poster about work not being ready when promised (7/29/2007). Today I had an appointment to pick up my dress. When I got there the pins were still in it and nothing had been done. They had two weeks. The seamstress had not come in to work yet and the sales associate had no clue what to do. I relayed that my wedding was in four days and I needed to leave Indy with the dress today. It took them 3 hours to finish the work. When I returned to pick up the dress I noticed that it had been altered a lot tighter than it needed to be (I had just had it on 3 hours earlier with pins in). I noticed that some of the beading work was also missing and 1 inch strings were hanging from the dress where beads were. The owner of the store said ?you bought a sample, that is what you get.? The beads were there before her alterations. She gave me a little baggy of beads. This is the second time I have come in for a fitting and not had the alterations ready. In addition to being kept waiting 15-20 minutes for each of my four fittings. When I asked to be compensated for having to stay in Indy for 3 hours and rearranging my afternoon schedule, the store owner said ?No. I drove from Cincinnati to alter your dress. You inconvenienced my day. These things happen.? \r \r Buy your dress there if you can have it altered elsewhere. Pros: Selection and Sample Sales Cons: Alterations and anything after you buy dress more

Terrible 7/29/2007

They promised in writing to have my dress ready by a specific date and they did not fulfill that promise. The kindness I remembered when I first when into the store to buy my dress quickly turned to indifference and rudeness when I called to inquire about the whereabouts of my dress. They are very unorganized. Go to Saks 5th Avenue or make the trip to Chicago if you want to find a nice wedding dress and work with professional people. Bridal Boutique of Caramel is not professional at all. more
