Doctor Brian Golden is the best. I was living in Las Vegas at the time, I had gone through 5 years of misery with Kidney Stones. I had 1 stone that kept coming back and would be bigger every time. I lost jobs due to this problem having to be hospitalized. I remember the 1st day I visited Dr. Golden in his office, he was so professional and caring and explained the procedure that was going to take place. My name is Debbie, and I am a 56 year old grandmother. When I had severe abdominal pains recently and ended up in the Hospital, Brian Golden was my doctor. I was amazed to discover that he honestly cares about each of his patients, and goes above and beyond the basic care I’ve come to expect from doctors. It was obvious that he listened and worked with me in choosing a treatment plan. He explained my options, told me what he would recommend in my case and answered my questions in easy to understand terms. He was very calm and reassuring, and I trusted him immediately. After discussing the pros and cons of each procedure, we decided to take the least invasive plan. Dr. Golden threaded a laser up to my kidney and chipped away at the huge kidney stone. (I went in for outpatient surgery.) EVERYONE involved came in to talk to me. It was like a meet and greet. When it was time for my surgery, I knew everyone in the room and felt the respect and compassion. While I was waking up, I could hear the nurse talking to me, gently encouraging me. Over the last few weeks, I have had a stent from kidney to my bladder. It has only caused minor discomfort, but is necessary until the lithotripsy procedure to hopefully shatter the rest of the stone. I am extremely satisfied with Dr. Golden and highly recommend him to ANYONE needing a urologist. Please do your best to get through the terrible office staff. Dr. Golden’s bedside manner and knowledge are amazing and well worth it. I encourage everyone to tell the office manager about any experiences with the horrible front office staff. The doctors in this office should not have to apologize for the staff’s sloppy indifference. All of those doctors deserve a lot more respect and assistants of much higher quality. more

I am writing this testimonial because I feel strongly about the care that I received from Dr. Golden. I do not normally take the time to express my recommendations, I feel and have always felt that only exceptional service should be acknowledged and that is why I am writing this now. Being diagnosed with cancer is an extremely scary and emotional time, for both me and my family. The care, treatment and eventual outcome of the cancer has the ability to consume your every waking thought. Dr. Golden, from the initial consult, was professional, warm, caring and in touch with the mental anguish that I was obsessing about. He treated me and my wife with respect and consideration while helping us through this challenging time in our lives. It goes without saying that he is an extremely skilled surgeon; I exceeded all of the standard milestones of recovery and much to Dr. Golden’s dismay and eventual reprimand, even played softball two weeks after leaving the hospital. Dr. Brian Golden is a great surgeon. At the age of 38 yrs old I was worried about having bladder surgery to correct my stress incontinence. Dr. Brian Golden is a fabulous surgeon! My husband was diagnosed with kidney cancer in September 2009. He was only 41, and in seemingly excellent health (he’s an ex-pro-volleyball player) when he started urinating blood. Dr. Golden was the specialist called in to care for my husband. After studying all x-rays and scans, he explained everything to us in detail…all pros and cons…all worst and best case scenarios. He was straight forward, which was comfort in our situation. He needed to perform surgery and remove the mass. \r My mother has had three types of cancer over the last 15 years, and she only trusts Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Being we lived in Nevada, going there to have this procedure done wasn’t out of the question. I did extensive research on Dr. Golden to weigh our options, and was confident in my findings. Dr. Golden is a certified specialist, and an expert using the Divinci machine, which leaves the smallest scar possible, meaning less damage and a faster recovery time.\r The surgery went flawlessly! Having a kidney transplant at The Cleveland Clinic, I did not feel confident seeking medical care in Las Vegas. My nephrologist, Dr. Jain, said he understood my concerns and promised me the best in the west. Being from the east coast I have come to know what the best is. Dr. Golden is an excellent doctor. I was diagnosed w/ issues that were pretty extreme and needed help fast. He was compasionate, caring, and jumped to action immediately. My situation is a little rare but I found out in March that my right kidney had no blood flow in it and it was basically dead. I saw 3 other specialist before I saw Dr Golden and all 3 told me to leave my kidney in and not have it removed that it was a congenital issue. In August I saw Dr. Golden because I was having some back pain. The minute I met with him he made me feel so comfortable. He recommended I remove my kidney right away due to being high risk for infection. The 2 weeks before my surgery I woke up in the middle of the night in the worst pain of my life. My husband rushed me to the ER and they told me my kidney was infected. They put a catheter in the kidney to drain it to relieve the pain. The day after this procedure they sent me home until my sugery. The next day my hospital doctor called me to tell me my blood was infected from the infection and I had to go back to the hospital right away to be admitted. I stayed in the hospital another 5 days because the infection was so bad. I finally got to have my surgery the following week. I wish I had met with Dr. Golden sooner because I wouldnt of had to go thru all of this pain. He is the sweetest doctor have ever had the chance of meeting. He took the best care of me, and made me and my family feel very comfortable! I would highly recommend Dr Golden to anyone who has kidney problems. This note is my thanks to Dr. Golden for saving most of my left kidney.\r \r My story is a little unusual, since I had already lost my right kidney to cancer in 2002. That whole kidney was removed in a traditional operation through a long “shark bite” that was awfully painful and took several months to recover from. Recently my doctor found a new tumor in my left kidney (the only one I have left!). I was scared I would need this kidney removed, then be hooked up to a dialysis machine for the rest of my life. \r \r The urologist who took out my right kidney years ago recommended Dr. Brian Golden. My primary doctor rated Dr. Golden as “EXCELLENT” which of course influenced my decision, but the deciding moments were when I actually met and discussed my case with Dr. G. He showed me my CAT scan and the tumor. He described the operation using the da Vinci robot (robotic partial nephrectomy) and showed me how much of my kidney could be saved. He had a very reassuring bedside manner, was confident (but not arrogant), and answered all my questions. He made me feel comfortable that I’d found the right surgeon for my terrifying situation. \r \r The surgery went great! MY KIDNEY WAS WORKING JUST AS WELL AFTER SURGERY as beforehand. The few little incisions weren’t very painful and I was out of the hospital in just a day and a half. When I saw Dr. Golden after surgery, he said the pathology report said all the cancer was removed. Dr. Brian Golden was very highly recommended by a prestigious internal medicine group in Las Vegas. Their recommendation noted that he was eminently qualified as an experienced, practicing urologist and surgeon, particularly in a procedure called the Da Vinci. Having undergone this procedure on 5 Aug op at the hands of Dr. Golden, I attest to the fact that he has more than earned such high esteem. From initial consult, through biopsy & diagnosis of prostate cancer to eventual surgical removal of my prostate, Dr. Golden was the consummate professional. He firmly & clearly communicated the facts to me, & was always considerate of my feelings. I went to UMC Quick care 3 times and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. One short visit to Dr. Golden, and he got it right. He was not only knowledgeable and very nice, but also took the time to even show me the results under the microscope! Who does that??? He's the best Dr. I've seen. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Golden. I sincerely feel he saved my life. While running an abdominal scan for some stomach problems, they accidently found a large mass on my left kidney. My family doctor immediately referred me to Dr. Golden. Dr Golden ordered another scan with contrast to get a better view of the location of the mass. Due to the location and size of the mass, he recommended that he remove the whole kidney. The risk of infection and complication by trying to remove just the mass was too great. It ultimately was my final decision and I decided to follow his recommendation. He made me no promises but he thoroughly explained how he intended to make four small incisions (1/4"" to 1"") in length to get everything out. The morning before the surgery, he met with my husband and went in details to explain him what was going to take place. I honestly and truly felt I was in good hands. When I woke up from surgery, all I had was four small incisions, the longest (1"") through my belly button. I was in the hospital two days and went to see Dr Golden one week after my surgery for a follow up. He explained that the cancer was malignent and\r aggresive but he removed everything; no need for radiation or chemotherapy. My surgery took place in Nov. 2008 and Dr Golden sends me for scans every three months. So far, everything's been just fine! Dr, Golden and the Da Vinci procedure have preserved my husband's urologic and sexual functiions. His expertise with the robotic procedure has made a 56 year old man and his wife very happy! We were very impressed with Dr. Golden, the hospital and the staff in both his offices and the hospital. Gentlemen, do yourself a favor and have annual PSA/Prostate screenings. Painless procedure that could save your life. I recently had a prostrate biopsy performed by Dr Golden and many years of dread and fear. What a waste of time and needless fear. The procedure was nearly painless, somewhere between that of a haircut and a flu shot. \r \r Dr Golden is awesome, his staff is caring, and your questions and fears will be answered and addressed. I was referred to Dr. Golden when my doctor found a mass in my kidney. I was surprised at how much time Dr. Golden took to look over my films with me and explained the treatment options without confusing me with medical lingo. We decided to freeze the tumor with ""laparoscopic cryoablation."" The surgery went great and I was able to leave the hospital the DAY AFTER SURGERY! I had very little pain and got back to my usual activities in about a week. Dr. Golden has a great bedside manner and I felt very confident in his abilities.
