2 years ago I became aware of steadily losing self-motivation in the gym, and after years of laboring I still had not achieved the beach body I'd always wanted.\r
Then I heard friends talk about the rigors of crossfit workouts at a local box and the owner (Lee Pappas) who could motivate an eskimo into building a snowman. I was jealous of the enthusiasm within the Crossfit community and the bond they shared from doing something difficult and rewarding together. I wanted what these people had so I joined Brethren Crossfit.\r
On day 1 I was humbled as 125lb women in their 40s repeatedly power-cleaned more than I could muster, sending my 10 years at 24hr Fitness straight into the trash, along with my pride. 6 months into Crossfit training, my body began to take on the beach body look that I had always wanted. It was apparent that for years in a regular gym I had struggled against my own physique, trying to make it look the way I wanted it to look instead of the way I was 'supposed' to look. \r
I'll be 50 years old this August but fell like I'm in the best shape of my life. I'm grateful for what the trainers at Brethren have done for my personal quality of life. I'm certain that I've discovered the closest thing I will come to the fountain of youth, and better still I belong to a community of people who have a deep appreciation and respect for one another.
