My wedding cake was lovely, 4 tier butterpound, with buttercream icing. Elegant design, with ribbon, desined to perfection. Thank you for making my dream wedding cake!

Their cupcakes are one of a kind. They also have some amazing pies to go with the season and they are always on the season with their specialties all year round. more

Well, I have never.... 4/1/2011

Bredenbeck is the worst bakery in the Philadelphia region! The Owner not only is rude, but also does not value customers that have been using the bakery for years. When I phoned her to share with her my dissatisfication with the cakes, her response was that she thought the cakes were beautiful! She went on to say that I obviously spent to much on cake, and now was suffering from buyers remorse. I was so insulted and taken back by this comment, I physicially felt sick. First let me explain that the triflin cakes were deliveried to a $15,000 Sweet Sixteen birthday party for my one and only daughter, at a counrty club. I spent more than $500 on one of my daughters dresses, and she had THREE dress changes. Additionally, I could care less what she though was beautiful, as the payment for the pathetic cakes was taken from my credit card. I went to the bakery and was very specific about what I wanted, even had one of the counter staff take and copy pictures from their albumn of what I wanted. I chose a name cake that said KADEN in their book in block lettering, when I received my cake with the name MICAH on it the text was changed from block lettering to script. It was hard as a rock, and once cut the cake was dry and broke apart like cornbread. I ordered three cakes in total, and not one met my expectations. And one looked like a child decorated it! The cake in all three where unsatisfactory. I was sooooo outdone with the level of unprofessionalism, four letter word began to consume my entire vocabulary. Not only did I have to deal with disgusting cakes, but then the disrespectful attitude of the owner. It is my wish that anyone considering using this so-called bakery reconsider, and go elswhere. I would not recommend them to do a cake for my dog. Prospective customers, I wish your event to be notable for more than the terrible cake. Please do yourselves a favor, and seek other bakeries to fulfill your needs for bake goods for you special event!! I want to note two things: 1.) The counter staff consist of a group of well-mannered polite young people, so dont let this fool you!! The owner is truly a piece of work!! -subsequently bringing down the entire customer service experience. 2.) I have made it my mission to make sure that all is aware of the shotty work and non-professionalism at this bakery, however whenever/whereever possible Bredenbeck's have attempted to stiffle me. My repreated post on FaceBook have been deleted. So, again buyer beware!! \r more

Perfect for a hot day 3/18/2009

if you walk down this beautiful section of Germantown, you'll happen upon this little ice cream shop. While it is cramped, it's more than worth the stop in, even if you have to wait in line. You can get free samples of ice creams you may want, and are able to mix and match as well. The cookies n' cream--my favorite--was definitely worth the wait. more

Best ice cream stop on Germantown! 3/18/2009

I love this place. They have amazing ice cream, you can taste every flavor before you decide and they will let you mix and match your cone or bowl. The birthday cake ice cream is a hands down winner. more

Bredenbeck's 11/19/2008

Go for ice cream or bakery items. The bakery items are staples, but there are always a couple unique winners in the case. Look for those. They make a syrupy toffee bundt cake that is always a winner for dinner parties. more

Best Place for Cakes and Ice Cream 8/15/2008

They have the best cookies and cakes in the area! Their butter pound cake is my favorite. They did my wedding cake last October, with leaves and pumplins for the Fall, and not only did the look of the cake wow people, but it tasted great as well! It was almost more talked about than me and my wife! We always get great service when we are there, and their ice cream parlor serves Bassett's ice cream, so we don't have to go all the way into the city for it! The last time I was in there I was told that they are starting a blog to show people cakes that they do and different stuff they have going on there! I'll meet you there! Pros: Excellent food, excellent service Cons: When busy, it gets a bit crowded, small store, expecially during holidays, they have lines out the door more

Delicious cakes & pastries 11/14/2005

I am craving a piece of my wedding cake, which was from Bredenbecks. They do a variety of baked goods from cupcakes & brownies to elaborate wedding cakes. Our red velvet cake was delicious & beautiful and the frosting perfectly matched the swatch I'd given them. One thing I was a bit saddened by is that the platform on which the cake rested and the platform for the top tier did not look "finished" - they were rough around the edges & looked like they needed to be covered up. I wish I'd been warned of this from the beginning - something to keep in mind if you are getting a cake from them - ask the florist to give it a once-over. That aside though, we were very happy, & wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others. PROS: Great wedding cakes! CONS: more

Yummy Ice Cream 9/4/2005

Want a cool treat on a hot summer day or any kind of day for that matter? If you do, then go to Bredenbeck's Bakery & Ice Cream Parlor. They have many cool treats to choose from and they are all so so good! I love their creamy milkshakes. If you are an ice cream lover, this is a must stop! The prices are great too! more

Go for the Ice Cream 6/29/2005

Forget the pastries - go for the ice cream! They sometimes have homemade ice cream that's unlike any commercial brand - I was enamored of the Tiramasu ice cream. But even their commercial brand stuff is good, and served in generous portions. There are a few benches in front of the store where you can sit on a warm day or evening, enjoying your cone. Oh yeah - they do have a variety of cakes, cookies, and other baked goods that look delicious. more
