Dirty Water 6/21/2014

I went to breakers last year with my kids and the water was very dirty. I wound up getting water in my sinuses and having to take several rounds of antibiotics to get rid of the infection. The water was sooo cloudy and there was all kinds of stuff in the water. Not sure how they meet standards and stay in business. more

A Lot of Fun 3/17/2006

Breakers Water Park is a great place to go durring the hot summers in sourthern Arizona, even for really young kids.the have five huge slides for the bigger kids, splash canyon, the largest wave pool in AZ for just chillin out and they have this thing called the splash zone which is great for the smaller kids who don't know how to swim.there is something for just about everybody there.the only thing I would be cautious about is keep track of your kids, it's a really big park and very easy to get sperated from your young ones. more

I'd rather go to a public pool 10/19/2005

Breakers is a well known Tucson "fun spot" but I would, frankly, rather go to a public pool. Breakers is out in the middle of no where, it is run down and the water seems dirty, it is over priced and crowded during the summer. There is not enough shade, so sunscreen is a must. I've taken kids here in the past and they have enjoyed it but it just isn't worth the gas and time to get out there. My other concern is that I've found the lifeguards to be inattentive, so you really need to keep an eye on any not so strong swimmers in your group. more

Breaker's Water Park 8/14/2005

We once went to Breaker's Water Park... and since then, never returned. The place looks dilapidated. You would think that a fun place would have a better atmosphere. We went on a weekend so it was naturally crowded, but so crowded that we had to carry our towels around until someone left so we could take their place. The water was not very clean, but they did offer a kiddie pool which my kids enjoyed. The water on that didn't look too clean either, but hey, it IS a public pool. The timed wading pool which turned the pool into an ocean setting was quite nice... it presented a pseudo ocean tides which everyone seemed to enjoy. The lines went pretty fast. I did notice that it had a rustic appeal... which made me feel unsafe riding the larger rides. It just looked too homemade. No, there's nothing wrong with homemade, but I have never seen waterslides in this condition. Location wise, this was in the middle of no where. It was hard to find for someone who's never been there. We've been there once, and I still would not know how to go back to this place. more

Fun park 8/2/2005

Breakers has some really great water slides and the wave action pool is a lot of fun. It doesn’t seem like they have enough shady areas and you will need a lot of sunscreen because you will be in the sun most of the time you are there. The crowds can be kind of large at times, but it is overall a fun place. more

Not so great 7/31/2005

I recently went to Breakers with my son. I was not overly impressed. I thought it was very dirty and very old. It was nice to be in the sun since there really are no beaches around us but I don't think I will be going back. There are a good deal of different things to do but the kiddie pool was very dirty and the little tikes play area was not clean at all. The food was ok. I just felt like I ahd gone back in time. I would think it was not very regulated as far as safety standards. more

Once a summer is more than enough 7/27/2005

Well, my family went to this place a lot a few summers ago. Personally, the pool made me feel sick. The place can be quite filthy (like the walkways and such). The rides can have really long waits and are not safe! One of my kids said she almost fell off one because it went so fast. Another cracked his toenail. I also feel there is a lack of supervision for the park as a whole. Not recommended. more

Breakers Water Park Summer Fun 7/15/2005

The kids love Breakers. Again, there is something for all ages. The wave pool is a gradual sloping beach-like pool with waves I believe every 15 minutes. There are several slides. Some are not for the faint of heart! Others are fun for a 2 yr old. There is a sprinkler area, a kid pool with a huge waterfall mushroom, and lots of slides. In the little kid section, there are a bunch of those little tykes playhouses. Very popular with the kids. You can rent tubes- wait on this because if you find you don't use them alot you just end up leaving them sitting somewhere while or dragging them around from place to place. There is a concession stand- hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, etc. One of the prizes the kids can earn from the reading program at the libraries in Tucson is tickets to Breakers. So, get reading! There are coupons online at their website and at Frys at the customer service desk. more
