Great first experience at Brasa, I highly recommend it. Considering the chef and the website, I expected the restaurant to be a nice sit-down place. We were surprised when we pulled up to see something that looked more like a fast food joint. The building is a converted car service station, complete with the clear garage door stalls. However, once you get past the initial surprise and start eating, it all goes out the window. We ordered the braised pork, braised beef, cornbread, cheese grits, creamed spinach, and fried plantains. Also went with the big chocolate chip cookie and cafe con leche for dessert. It didn't look like a lot of food when it arrived, but it's all very filling and absolutely delicious. The only complaints that I had were that I like my cornbread a little sweeter and my coffee a bit stronger. The service was great and I couldn't believe how inexpensive it ended up being for the quality. Go early because they don't take reservations! We arrived around 5:20pm on a Saturday and the place filled up soon after.
